Thread: Does the KD timer work on charge shot??????????????????
IF it doesnt im going carbineer.... cant lose if they cant get up LOL..
In addition, though, whenever you shoot charge shot, it will force the target to undergo the knockdown animation. This means that it's essentially a posture change to prone, as when this happens the target is NOT in the knockdown state. They do not have their action delayed (meaning they can get up whenever they want), and they can even fire back if they're a ranged combatant.

lol dude, smart people realize that they can still shoot the second they try and stand up...if a carbineer is stupid enough to spam me with charge shot and nothing else he's going to get a nice poison and disease for his troubles...
But spamming ChargeShot1 in PvP while in a group of non-Carbineer's is extremely effective. Solo spam of ChargeShot1 in PvP is not good so alternate ChargeShot1-BurstShot1, rinse, repeat, which I recommend in PvE as well if you don't have a pet. I can hold a Plains Hunter at bay doing this spam and never get a scratch while he loses 9k HAM
AND I don't have to be buffed, just take one sunburn and one ryshcate and call in the coroner for your PvE opponent ![]()

Hmm...if this is true...what if :
PvP, carbineer vs. another ranged profession...carbineer keeps doing knockdown at point blank.
You can't shoot while prone at point blank, correct?
So what is the "other guy" supposed to do to get out of this?
My own counterpoint : Provided that the "other guy" is a relatively well-versed PvP profession, he/she will have some knockdown defense that will allow them to get up and walk away before the carbineer can land another successful charge shot. So essentially, if you have no knockdown defense, you can be subject to charge shot abuse...right?
And where does this leave the non-ubertemplate pure melee classes when you are spamming chargedshot at them? Unable to hit you or fight back in any way because they have to do the animation.
Its the ranged equavilant of a KD/Dizzy AutoWin. Am I the only one that thinks its bad for the game to have thesemoves that render an opponent unable to fight back or run away for the entire duration of a battle, regardless of armor/buffs/etc.? Does it even feel like a win when you win in this way?

Here is my experience. I'm currently 0-4-4-4 in carb, and 0-4-3-0 bh with nov medic. With confusion shot, then charge shot, I can drop most folks. If they get up, the dizzy from confusion shot makes them fall again. Thus I don't need to spam charge shot. However, this doesn't work for me against the uber templates...rifleman/tka/fencer. Throw some smuggler in there too, and they've delayed me 10 seconds with panic shot, and I am kd/dizzyed from their TK skills. And the tables are turned. So it seems there is a viable option to kd/dizzy from ranged or melee, and I spent a ton of skillpoints to get my charge shot/confusion shot combo, so I don't feel bad about using it.I don't need to spam charge shot, and if I do, I'm dead. And yes they can fire back from charge shot, and everywhere I read, it's working as intended. The only time I needed to spam chargeshot was early on as a carbineer, before I got BH shots, against at-sts, or against a really annoying opponent who made me angry LOL, and I wanted to see him flop around. And yes I get a ton of angry tells about chargeshot, but usually from those who aren't accustomed to losing. When they beat me with TKM dizzy/kd, they stand over me and say "LOL I pwned you," and I don't talk any smack back. Because it's my option to get the same template if I wanted. Oh yeah, thinking about dropping nov medic to remaster carb again.
