Thread: New carbineer question inside.
Some other threads go into more details, but simply get BurstShot1, ScatterShot1, ScatterShot2 and ChargeShot1 when you get the Combat XP. One of the best shots is at Novice, FullAutoSingle2 
If you concentrate on PvP, get Ranged Mitigation 2 ASAP.
Burst Shot has been my best damage shot. I haven't gone all the way through to master carbineer yet so I can't assess chargeshot2 or scattershot2.
My experience with scattershot1 is that it's broken though. I do precisely 1 damage when I use it.
Chargeshot1 is also peculiar, it does normal damage and the knockdown works very well but it makes my character yell "1" anytime I use it.
ChargeShot2 is completely broken so don't worry about that one. ScatterShot2 is awesome when in a group as it hits 3 random pools so you can deal damage with other professions.
ChargeShot1 is a normal KD followed by posture change to prone if spammed. Ranged professions can fire back after they get up from the normal KD and simply go down again with posture change.
ScatterShot1 is NOT broken at all, the Chat System just can't display it correctly. Spam ScatterShot1 on a target and watch above its head and HAM bars, you are doing A LOT more than 1 damage
FullAutoSingle2 is hands down the most damage per second on any weapon. If you need to conserve HAM and do maximum damage, then BurstShot1 is your best friend. BUT, BurstShot1 and CripplingShot do NOT do more DPS than FullAutoSingle2. Funny how our best attack is at Novice....
