Ok, carbines SEEM such a cool profession. What the hell happened when assigning abilities?

Speed. This is stupid. Its not like I mind carbines being slower than say pistols, but rifles are faster? The fundamental problem is the damage doesn't make up for the speed and results in crappy DPS. I am a doc first and foremost, but add carbineer seems like a death sentence, not a good choice. Dabble BH or drop a couple million on SEA's, gee what great choices we have. Or become a TKM and never worry about anything again! And to insult it even more, the one method of adding free ranged speed, FS skill, is of course broken. And of course, the melee one works.

Damage types. While carbines suffers a problem, so do alot of other professions really. Its seems like 3 professions got a decent spread (fencer, pistoleer, rifleman), and most others got the shaft.

States. Carbineers apply states. Its like, the thing they do. So why does it 100% not work on a higher end mob? Makes me so happy to be a carbineer. Smack FAS2 25 times, get 15 hits, zero states applied.

Area damage. Why does melee get to be the king of hitting multiple targets? Nothing in a carbineer's specials matches say pikeman. pole spin 2, pole sweep, pole area attack, good grief the fun they get. cone < area.

But you know, the thing is melee in this game makes it feel less like Star Wars. So here I am, with a half-assed profession that is iconically Star Wars pissed because ranged is second fiddle to melee, and the WAIT FOR CU is the lamest line ever.

I know TA, thats why I put my title up. I just feel so lame when I use pikes, but I also feel about 50% more effective. So irritating. Just needed a vent. If the CU does one thing for me, which is lets me be a viable combatant with just Carbineer, I'll keep it. Don't suppose you'd be allowed to kinda hint that much would ya?

ROFL, no hints sorry.

Well I will say this, toons that have ~250 Skill Points used towards combat will always be better than just Carbineer (92 points)......now and after the CU.
