i am a master carbineer and personally i think forany kind of gooduse of carbineer we need the bh skills for dizzy ect and its unfair if we want to use one weapon we have to use so many skill points, will the so-calledcombat revamp improve this profession atall or make the bh skills included in master carbineer.

well, since im going BH anyways, it doesnt matter much to me

but the biggest problem i see so far with carbineer is lack of defense. If they'd give us a few more state defenses, even if they're low (like 10-20 total for each state?) and an extra 30 or so melee defense, we'd be better off.

I mean, if someone attacks you up close, cant you just block with your weapon? whatever happened to bayonets

but its a fun profession so far, and i like it. Might not be the best, but im proud to be unique on my server, theres only 2 or 3 other carbineers ive ever seen on valcyn, salutes to them

Actually Carbineer only takes 92 Skill Points....this leaves plenty of options to add Defense to a Carbineer Template. Personally I am 4440 Fencer - 0044 Pistoleer with some FS Skills too and of course Master Carbineer

My main toon is a Master Carbineer - 0444 CH and I get plenty of Defense from my uber BE Pets.

So while a 92 Point Carbineer has diddly for Defense, it is quite easy (easier than a MBH using 169 Points) to pickup extra Skills to be a well-rounded fighter.

Carbineer Specials already cover the same abilities (Blind/Dizzy/Stun/KD) as the BH Carbine Specials.

There is so much changing in the Combat Upgrade (hasn't been called Combat Revamp for quite awhile now, maybe you need to go catch up on TH's posts on it) that I can't address this question at all really. Besides breaking the NDA, telling just part of it will just lead to more confusion without ALL THE INFO.

I know it's been mentioned before in many carbineer FAQs, but the biggest problem with the profession is it's usefulness against high-level enemies. Since the carbineer's greatest asset (unless you have an super mind poison/fire dot carbine) is the ability to land states. They do moderate to good damage, not great, so they rely on laying the enemy on their back or keeping them stunned. And when high-level mobs are resistant (damn near invulnerable) to the states then it leaves us with Leg SHot 3 as our main damage special (crippling shot if speed capped).

This is just my little wishlist, but I think since our greatest asset is the ability to apply states, then our attacks should have a +70 to +150 (for those tough enemies with defense of +100 to states) chance of applying the state. OR They could just lower the resistances to the states on higher end MOBs. I think if Intimidate 1&2 (starting profession skills) can land on Death Watcher then our Master Carbineer (elite profession) skills should have just as much a chance to land.

Anyways I have 100% faith in our correspondant and the carbineer team working on testing the Combat Update that this issue will be looked at, if not, there will be enough other improvements to make me forget this problem.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. There are many details to be worked out yet in the Combat Upgrade...MANY, but Carbineer is lookin' mighty fine right about now

I wish I could say more, but I hope all of you trust me....

The CU is a major change to the n-th degree....I promise you that each and every person who hasever looked at the full Docs has been in "shock and awe" at the size and scope and quality of what is planned.
