Thread: Carbineer combat breakdown...

I've been gone over a year, so I'm even more clueless... but I've been working up my brother's character so I've gotten a few bits figured out.

With MBH and MCarb, your money shots are Critical Shot and Leg Shot.

Rapid Fire does less damage but is supposed to refresh faster (or so I gather), but doesn't. Not much anyway.

Charge Shotoutdamages Underhand Shot for your knockdown, and Cripple Shot is your snare.

Suppression Fire is a grouping tool that does a short duration, spammable snare in a cone. Full-auto Area and Spray Shot are your two cone damage shots. Lower damage, but useful in some situations I imagine.

Torso Shot causes a bleed... but it's not terribly dramatic.

As far as the food goes, so far I've just been using Blob Candy (+ action regen) and a few other odds and ends I've found on vendors. Food has some interesting effects, but I haven't finished studying which does what yet.

And to add to Torso Shot, it does 45 pts of bleeding damage each 10 secs. Not really useful, but it's something nevertheless.

Can't really comment for the food side, haven't still had time to really look into CU foods...

As for armor... You could wear all 3 types of armor with that template: Assault (BH), Battle (Carbineer) and Recon (Pistoleer). I wouldn't recommend Recon though as you will have some nasty hinderance without Master Pistoleer. To decide between Assault and Battle.... For grinding and generally against critters, Assault would be better as it gives a bonus to Kinetic. For PvP Battle would be better as it has no bonuses nor disadvantages to either Kinetic or Energy. However, Armorsmiths can layer Battle to have a bonus to Kinetic or Energy if you like. I'd dare to say that Energy is the most used damage type in PvP now, especially because lightsabers do Energy damage now.

Choose appearance as you prefer, the stats will be the same regardless of armor appearance I think.

Never would have imagined leg shot was one of the best ones....so do I just alternate those two shots + root/snare on target? Does critical shot give all my nex shots a higher chance to crit for X amount of time if so think im starting to get this. That was very useful

Actually Critical Shot itself has a higher chance of a critical hit. Not sure, but I think it was 25 % or something like that.

Gonna keep this short cause i really need your help. Been gone for 4 months, came back tonight adn wow how things have changed, i feel like i can barely auto run right. So now im Mbh/Mc/with stopping shot from pistols, my question is....in both PvE big fights and PvP (jedi and maybe non jedi) what are the specials i actually use and what order etc? Also what foods do i eat armor do i use? Just a brief run down of basic things people take for granted who arnt stuck in the old school mentality, this would save me weeks of learning curve and that would mean A LOT to me.

Biggest thing though is out of the template whats sepcials are good for just damage? Scattreshot/torsoshot/legshot etc im so confused because there is only 1 ham pool so i cannot relae this to the old system at all, thanks again guys u are life savers

Nah from what I heard.. it is only a 5% chance of critical hit.. and you can only get that to 8% with the new slices..

Food wise, go with Vercupti, Teltier Noodles, and Pixie spice.. Gives you amazing bonus to all attributes.
Also, Pack up on Stim-D's.. And get a few crates of Ruby Bliel. Use your stims when you need to, and then drink a bliel. Bliel is very low filling, and it allows you to use a stim again very quickly.

You also need a Proton Carbine

Making my shopping list now...

So what's the penalty for spice downer, and is there a way to ameliorate it? Way back "in the day" a downer would incap me more often than not...

Spice withdrawal does not last long.

Well I dunno, but I've been shooting many +critical+s lately. If I'd have to say a number, it would be every 15th.

Crit shot is one of the best shots in the game for damage with or without the critical. With critical bonus it has to be the best. Without i think it compares to the rifleman top damage shot. Use it often.

Blop candy, spiced tea if you can heal yourself for mind regen, and noodles I think. All over 1hr active time with good regen. After that it's booster blue or pixie for 20% modifiers. downer is after 15min or so and only for 30sec vs 3min pre-cu.

Good luck. Wish I could log on again...

30 sec downer... hokay... as long as it doesn't knock me on my rear end.

Don't forget crispic which can give a nice accuracy bonus, as for order of shots in PvE I'll open with legshot, charge shot for the knockdown then another legshot for big damage whilst they're on their back. When they're back up I give them a snare with crippleshot...after this I'll play it by ear as my action is down quite a bit.
