Thread: Question about a carbine/dps

Here's the stats on the carbine I have.
My modified speed is 1.39.
Damage 478-1064
SAC 91
Accuracy +17
The modified dps is 555.
w/o powerup
I realize the dps doesn't matter much because special attacks tend to do max damage. If the special attack damage was randomized between the low number 478, and the max 1064, with a modifier added to it, would the DPS then matter? Someone had told me specials doing max like they have been is really a bug and that at some point dps will matter again because weapon damage will vary within the range rather than top off. Just curious if this is a decent carbine and what type of max damage pup I should look for.

Damage is nice, Speed is nice, accuracy is nice... SAC is dreadful. The thing is, DPS really means nothing, even under the circumstances you talk about since you have to take into account misses, armour resists, damage from specials, knockdowns, armour breaks etc etc. Just ignore DPS seriously, it'll likely never mean a damn thing

There's powerups to decrease the SAC and ones to increase the raw damage capability.
PUPs also have detrimental effects but are usually pretty minimal. Example: Damage PUPs increase damage but also makes the weapon a bit slower.

A sac pup will take away some of that acc...not a bad price to pay imo. a good one can get that sac down under 65. Unless you got a ton of speed skills i dont think you will be in too much action trouble with that except in the longer fights like kryte ancients and the like.
