Thread: Anyone use the DXR6 anymore? Opinions?

Hello All,
Question for you. Like many, I've come back to the game after several months, and have been back several weeks now....and finally have a good chunk of the Post-CU 'catching up' done. I'm a MBH and one of my staple weapons once upon a time was the DXR6.
I read through your weapon cap reference stickied above and noticed that there was no info listed for DXR6's.
The WS's that I used to work with for my weapon needs on Kettemoor are no longer around and so I've been shopping vendors I see coordinates for on the trade forums and what not. Most don't seem to carry DXR6's.
Has this weapon become 'bad' Post CU? The reason I ask is that the ones that I still have from Pre-CU seem to have a bit lower damage than other carbines now (The DXR6 in my inventory, unsliced, is 825 damage and 94 SAC). However...the RANGE on the thing is 65 meters while the range on all the other carbines seems 50 meters. To me, that just seems like a huge advantage.
Just out hunting and getting used to things, even with better, brand-new carbines in my inventory I find myself falling back on that old DXR6 alot as that extra range seems to make a world of difference. Being able to root, snare, and KD at 65 meters seems just huge.
Are newly crafted post CU DXR6's just awful? Do they have worse stats than my Pre-CU one and it just happened that my pre-CU one converted over nicely? What are the stats like on post CU DXR6's?
Any info you can share or advice you can offer would be much appreciated!

The DXR6 is somewhat outdated now. It is a CL50 gun and thus is not supposed to be as powerful in terms of damage as the top dogs (Elite and E11 Mk2). It does have that nice 65m range, but since you can get a CL54 Advanced Laser Rifle and use it as a Master Carbineer, there's less reason to use it even for the range. It does come in handy however, if you don't have much general ranged accuracy/speed, because the DXR6 will use your Carbine skill mods while the rifle will only use the general ranged (unless, of course, you are a Rifleman as well).

I can't really speak to the DXR6 specifically, since I don't have one. I'll be getting one tonight though, since the 65m range really intrigues me. I've been using a Grevious Striker (60m) as my standard weapon anymore.
With the CU, I find it really makes a difference to carbineers what your second prof is. As an MCM, I use the time between carbine shots to fire off some poisons. I don't really notice too much difference with higher DPS weapons, as I'm pausing the gun attack all the time.

I like the DXR6. I had two that were PreCU and converted decently I thought but not near the max damage that u got. Mine only converted to a 746 for max damage I think(at work and cant look currently) and that was a sliced one. Don't recall the SAC right now but I'll check it out when I get home. I haven't seen any CU crafted ones tho to make a comparision. I believe it does kinetic damage too doesn't it?
