The ultimate in group PvP support?
Or ultimate in gimpness?
The last I had heard, Carbs had ALMOST as much problems as Commando. Seeing that I have been a Commando for a very long time, I've done about every prof BUT Carbineer with it. Seeing that Commando weapons are (pretty much) all AoE (or intended to be, but its more than slightly broken atm), IMHO, Carbs would be a great addition to Commando. Especially since Commando has no specials to call its own. Carbs seem like they have a nice mix of crowd control, and damage specials.
Thoughts? Or has this question been asked a 1000 times? My search function wont work

that would be a neat template to try.....crippling shot would be a nice AOE snare (lasting longer than suppression fire) and if you picked up pistols 0003, you could have an area root lol....

Actually, Carbineer works 95% (Suppression Fire I heard not only does the snare over an area like it should... but it snares your own group too. Only heard of it, haven't seen it in-game). It is close to fully functioning and is still VERY reliable as a profession.
Some Carbineer moves that work very well with Commando:
+ Improved Charge Shot- a ranged Knockdown. Nice with the blast radii weaponry, but I have found it works wonders with a Flamethrower / Plasma Flamethrower, due to the cone.
+ Improved Crippling Shot- a ranged Snare. The best Snare in the game, IMO. Apply it in the same fashion as I mentioned already. One other added bonus: Have a Rocket Launcher equipped when using this and trying to chase down a fleeing target. The Rocket Launcher has a good ROF. Combine this with Crippling Shot, you just KD'd the target and hopefully applied an excellent snare. Assisting a group in chasing a worn Jedi down with this technique pisses off the Jedi to no end. Then add further insult by throwing a Thermal Detonator on the Jedi for a Fire DOT. It is a joyous occasion.
+ Improved Leg Shot- The damage money maker, just like Improved Headshot.
There is one wasteful thing with Carbineer + Commando:
- Area attack specials with Commando weapons don't attack the area the special normally would. Example: A Proton Rifle does not attack over the very wide arcs Improved Full Auto Area would normally do.
Not being able to execute Carbineer's excellent area attacks with Commando weapons is, IMO, a significant blow to this template.
Another profession that goes nicely with Commando is Pistoleer or Smuggler.

I've played every ranged prof with Commando there is, except Carbineer...BUT most of these were PreCU...I've only used Commando/Pistoleer and Commando/Smuggler postCU. The only weapon that is NOT AoE is the Proton Rifle, so I can still execute AoE specials with it, if need be. Thats what I was looking at Carbs for...
I am wondering thou...
With regular specials, the AoE for a flamer on a single target attack is SUPPOSED to be 100 percent target / 40 percent AoE to other. I wonder what happens to the built in AoE in Commando when used with an AoE specific attack (when the built in AoE is fixed...)?
