Is it possible to get an elite carbine with a visible stock and scope on it?

I have seen them hanging on walls in npc cities, but have never seen anyone actually make one.

Anyone know?

Yes it is possible. When a weaponsmith makes the gun they have the option of using a power up(scope, muzzle, stock, etc.) in the assembly of the weapon. This results in a weapon with a visible scope/stock or whatever the casee may be. The down side is that it effects the ham costs of the weapon in a negative way, as in adding to the ham cost of the weapon. Wich i suspect is why you don't see it that often. So, basicly you have a weapon with a permanent power up.

Personaly i've had several weapons with stocks and/or scopes. Most of wich i do not use much becuase of the excessive HAM costs.

Please don't consider the stats representative of what this WS can produce - I just wanted to hang them on my wall so he made them with non-advanced stocks and non-ideal resources.

Also, the models are only visible to the player - to others they look like a run-of-the-mill laser or DXR6.

Yup. They only show up for the player wielding it. So you wouldn't see them on others regardless.

Scopes/stocks/muzzles only show up on weapons for yourself for that matter if they're not made in a factory. Have to be hand made although I think the components can come from crates (this is what my weaponsmith tells me anyway).

Stock/scope/barrel only show up if the weapon is hand-crafted using components that are not in a crate (doesn't matter if they're hand-crafted or were taken out of a factory crate). Also, some weapons will not display certain parts at all (DH17 and E11 have no stock, I think E11 also has no scope). And, as the others said, if you're holding the weapon everyone else sees you with a base version of the weapon with no add-ons.
