(I posted this in the 'Core Systems' forum, but that one gets very low traffic, and as a Master Carbineer, I decided to re-post here)
I am a very big fan of the "Titles" players receive when mastering skill tress and entire professions. They add a lot of flavor to the game and can instantly identify you as a true master in the field of your expertise. However, I would like to see them taken a step further, by granting more titles based on combinations of existing skill sets.
As it is now, some titles can be deceiving. As a Master Carbineer, that title suggests that I am truly that, a total Master of using a Carbine. But that is not totally accurate. A person with Master Carbineer AND the carbine tree under Bounty Hunter is actually better with a carbine than just a Master Carbineer. Same holds true for a Master Pistoleer who also has either the BH or Smuggler pistol trees.
I would like to see extra titles granted to those who have those "better than master" combinations. An example could be if you have Master Carbineer plus the Carbine tree in BH, you are granted the title "Carbineer Elite". A Master Fencer who also has Master Brawler is better than just a Master Fencer. So he could get a title "Supreme Fencer". And the combos don't need to only be limited to same skill-mod bonuses, as in the carbineer+BH example. A Master WeaponSmith who is also a Master Merchant could be granted the title of "Arms Dealer". I don't really know what the actual titles should be, or what combinations should grant the bonus titles, but my examples hopefully get my point across.
Also, was wondering if any consideration has been put into granting titles for mastery of the Force Sensitive trees? Mastery of those trees could also play a part in the "combo-title" idea. Master Weaponsmith + Force Crafting Experimentation could grant a title that suggests more skill than just Master WS.

this is a great idea.
because of the lack of really good titles imho i usually run around without a title at all. i am not guilded, so it is just my character's name floating above the toon's head. at the moment this makes my toon stand out more than the titles we have to choose from now
i would love to see some really creative titles:
Elite Guardsman - Master Ranged + Master tree in Melee profession
Bodyguard - Master Melee + Master tree in Ranged profession
Elite Bodyguard - Master Melee + Master Ranged
those are the types of titles i would like to see that imply the 'better than master' status a person reaches when adding the skills from another profession

Elite Guardsman was an old pistoleer title that the devs removed from the game when they changed some of the titles not long after launch

actually it was just guardsman, but i remember that. then they gave pistoleers really messed up titles, then they gave them the titles they have now. i think some cool titles is a great idea, "master carbineer" just dosen't make me feel powerful, kinda makes me feel like the Devs didn't want to put to much thought into the title and just made it the same as the box.

I always liked Carbine Specialist if I was BH 0400 and MasterCarbineer. It seemed to fit since I didn't have any other skills otherwise....
An Arms Dealer would be awesome though.
Drug Dealer would be good too.
How about Droid Engineer and Bioengineer, can you do both? Engineering Professor?
It'd be really slick if there was one for EVERY combination in the game and you had to do it to find out what it was hehe.
