Thread: Crippling Shot Serious Discussion
It has taken me over two months now, and I finally ranked up to Crippling Shot last night. I was very pleased until I discovered that it does the exact same thing as Burst Shot,even thoughit is in the Accuracy skill tree. Then I became more frustrated than I have ever been with this game.
Why does this skill damage any action pool? Why give Carbineers two seperate skills that do exactly the same thing (Crippling Shot and Burst Shot II )? Is this a bug, or do they plan to keep it this way? I have nothing but questions about the Carbineer class now. Who expected Crippling Shot to damage any HAM pool after following Leg Shot III that hits only action (it certainly wasn't clear to me until last night, and it says nothing to this effect in the skill tree)? Who wasted so much time gaining it and already having Burst Shot II?
This bug, and the other disadvantagesthat come withthe skill tree(Leg Shot III, HAM costs),make the Carbineer class totally undesirable. It is the worst weapon class in the game right now. Just compare carbineer to pistoleer and you can see such a world of difference. Look at the multiples of skill differences, and damage... there really is no comparason.
The fact remains: Crippling Shot is in the Accuracy skill line, and thus should damage ONLY action pools. Making it random just gives us two of the same skills and totally undermines the entire profession. Just think about how much time one has to spend on getting both Burst Shot II and Crippling Shot (that's just 600,000 for the two skills, not to mention what it takes to get there)... and they both do the same thing?!
I want the developers and you players to seriously consider and discuss this issue. It is just a small part of the game, but to the Carbineer it can mean the difference between having a load of fun and feeling like one truly accomplished something in the game and being terribly frustrated and wanting to give up altogether.

Heh, you don't know much about Pistoleers if you can make that statement...they have the same problem. Stopping Shot, Fan Shot, Point Blank, Double Tap, all do exactly the same thing. Higher damage to a random pool, with varying speeds. Body Shot 3 is currently just as useless as Leg Shot 3. And the two master skills are broken.
BH Pistoleers ARE good though, but that is a BH issue not a Pistoleer problem. Pistoleer is a terribly broken class at the moment.
isnt burstshot2 broken? i heard it only does the same amount as burstshot1. besides, i hit for WAY more with cripplingshot than i ever have with burst1. max of 2k with burst1, max of 3.5k with crippling
Hey guys, I'm a master carbineer just wanted to add my two cents. Carbineers are definitely at the bottom of the food chain right now. Broken specials, high ham costs, a worthless class-specific weapon (elite-carbine) and little acknowledgement of our main problems by the developers. I don't even PvP anymore because of the commando's and BH's. I just stick to running theme park quests and when I finish those probably cancel my account the way things are going. Getting bored with the game, sick of paying for something that frusterates the hell out of me. This game was not ready for release, and still has major bugs that most game developers would be ashamed to let reach the release stage. And some of these bugs STILL are in game over two months past launch. (Anybody get sick of having mobs warp right on top of you and kick your ass? or how about when you run over a kilometer to a mission and it doesn't even spawn...
How about the paper thin depth of content? The constant nerfs? the ruined economy thanks to duping? the griefers who clone in theed, burns somebody, die, burn them again until they have nothing but health wounds left? And then get told by SOE they are "happy with commandos damage" ha I watched my roommate shoot a level 60 endor mob for 17k.
There are so many things broken, and then they throw the balance of PvP way out of whack, Charge Shot 2 STILL does not work properly even after the supposed patch that fixed it!
Tick Tock SOE! Watch those accounts disappear like vendor storage items!
whats taking them so long, its not like these are new problems... i mean they have had beta, and 2 months or so to fix bugs..
