Okay, if anyone has been reading my posts, you will notice that I can't go a paragraph without mentioning the EE-3. I'll admit that I am a bit in love with the gun. Maybe it comes from seeing the size of the holes Boba was putting in the walls of Cloud City with that cannon. Maybe it comes from using the auto-shotgun too much in my CounterStrike days. Hard to say, really. But the EE-3 was the one gun that really got me interested in Carbineer.

So I'm kind of upset with the sad state the Devs left it in. First off, the cool "radius" feature doesn't work. I've always felt that too many of the weapons in SWG were either useless or just bad parodies of each other, and the radius modifier on the EE-3 was the one thing that could have made it truly unique. *sigh* Gone.

Second of all. . . heat damage? Okay, whatever. I guess I can handle that if the DX2 and the DX6 (which are supposed to re-arange matter at the molecular level, thus destroying their target) fire off "acid" damage. I think that blast damage would have been more appropriate (and more in keeping with the "shotgun" feel of the weapon) but I suppose heat isn't all bad, as long as I don't even plan on using the EE-3 on Tatooine.

Third of all, AP0. I have a problem with that, seriously. The Jawa Ion Rifle has AP1. read that again. The JAWA ION RIFLE. Now, sure, it's a rifle, but it's a tiny little thing and has range modifiers like a carbine. But it's a DROID IMMOBILIZATION GUN and it has better armor piercing than our sad little EE-3 excuse for a combat shotgun. Does anyone else see a problem with this?

Now, naturally, I am willing to take the good with the bad. I think that in exchange for our shotgun we should get a truncated range. Several pistols max out at 48 meters (Striker and Tangle), and I think the EE-3 would work fine within those same limitations. Again, it would mesh with the "shotgun" feel of the gun and be a decent trade-off for the inherent advantages of the EE-3 at close range and against multiple enemies.

Now I know the EE-3 is not the only gun that's broken in the game. But I think it is the most unique gun in the game that we have access to. It's the most interesting, the most famous (it was Boba Fett's weapon of choice), and potentially one way to really help balance out the shortcomings of Carbineer without turning us into the Gods of Combat. Right now, the EE-3 is a Snub-Nose DH17 with higher HAM costs. It's the skill-tree equivelant of the FWG5, but with a more costly special penalty and a much lower DPS. What a waste of a certification.

Interesting. I would just like to comment that because the EE3 isa special type of carbine and has radius feature,I think it should be Novice Carbineer Certified.

To be honest I was a little surprised that the EE-3 was not the "Carbineer Elite" gun. It sure would be nice if our Elite gun had an actual name. It's not like there are a shortage of blaster models in the Star Wars Universe.

But if they EE-3 becomes the Shotgun of SWG, I can see it not being the LAST Carbine accessed. I think gating it at Carbine IV is high enough unless they plan on making it as "uber" as the DX-2 is or the T-21 was pre-nerf. I was just looking for a way to add a little weapon variety, as well as to expand the usefulness of an already popular-by-default weapon.

Or at least to make the blater of choice for the most feared bounty hutner in tha galaxy more powerful than a jawa's droid-catching gun.

LOL Aden_Nak, that was hilarious. If you've been reading the Carbine forums, I've probably popped up at one point or another. Just wanted to show some support for the common sense spoken by my fellow Carbineers. Your post should be read by all, as I have not taken the time to break down the weapons individually like that. Good work, and perfect sense all the way.

I think the ee3 is an alright gun, not bad if it worked right.

But I think carbineers got screwed on an elite gun, I'm the elite carbine is no better then my sliced DH17 carbine!!!!!
