Hi all:

I looted this carbine the other night and wanted to ask the experts on what this it could be worth. I looked at a weaponsmith made Carbine and in actual damage per shot it is weak, but take note of a few things, like the armor piercing, DOT and Range Modifiers.

These attributes seemed more special than others.

Elite Laser Carbine
Certified: No
Condition: 413/750
Volume: 1
Armor Piercing: Medium
Attack Speed: 5.0

Damage:
Type: Energy
Min: 7
Max: 129
Wound: 7.0%

Range Modifiers:
Point Blank: -10 @ 0m
Ideal: +3 @ 50m
Max: -40 @ 64m

Special Attack Cost:
Health: 28
Action: 46
Mind: 19

Damage Over Time:
Type: Poison
Attribute: Action
Strength: 147
Duration: 128 seconds
Potency: 37%
Uses: 199 charges

So what do you all think?
Thanks in advance

Interesting but not that good. I didnt know loot drops could change basics of a gun(like making it medium AP) but the speed is horrible, and so is the damage.

The DoT will be gone soon enough, only 199 charges.

5.0 speed and a very weak damage range(my elite is like 100-200 roughly)

Range modifiers arent good either, most elites I've seen have +20or more onideal range.

I can see some ways that it would come in handy in PvE, that is until the poison ran out and then the gun would be near useless. The medium AP would be great if the gun had a higher damage output, but it doesn't.

Personally, I'd try selling it to some sorry sucker of the opposing faction for as much as you think you can get for it. If that doesn't work, use it in PvE against large HAM creatures for a shot or two until the poison sticks, then place your two action bleeds with a better gun, and do your normal thing from there. In PvP I don't see the gun going anywhere at all.

Not so good...

My elite is 130-230 so even the armor percing is not so nice and a charge shoot is a 400-500 bleeding without armor piercing problem.

Hey guys, look at it again, it's a LASER carbine, not an Elite. Look at the large damage variance, that has laser written all over it. The laser also does medium armor piercing standard. Another giveaway is the range modifiers, the only carbine I know of that has an ideal range of 50 meters is the LASER. Im not trying to say PhiGon intentionally misled us, he did put laser in the title of the gun, I think he was more trying to say that it was an elite laser carbine as in it was the best, or top of the line, not that it was the elite carbine that we get certification for at novice carbineer. A fact that I do find interesting is the -10 accuracy at 0m. The only carbine I've ever had that was that good up close was my cdef

I must agree though, no matter what kind of carbine it really is, it isn't very good at all. It's slow, weak and has very few charges left of a not too potent poison. Just about the only good thing it has going for it is the point blank range mod, and I still feel like that is a typo.

Anywho, if it was me I'd just put it on the bazaar for 3k and get rid of it. If it is in fact an Elite carbine and not a laser I might hang it on my wall just to showcase how a loot item can have every stat range changed to duplicate another type of weapon (albeit poorly) and still be considered the original weapon type.

I have a looted ee3 that i love, its kinda like this one but better. It has ap1, bout 120-380, 3.8. The best part of it is it has a FIRE DoT. like 9000 uses left, i dont rember the exact numbers of the DoT but it usually does 300-400 per tick. Very nice for PvE and PvP when im feeling cruel (used it on an imp defending his base and after it was done he had like 800 or so health wounds). All of these DoT guns should be only used once in a fight then switch since it takes away a use even if you dont get the DoT to stick or if it already has a DoT. So I just fire once with this gun then go to good old laser.

Also someone said that our bleeds stack, do they? I always thought it was not stacking like the fire dot.

Id give you maybe 20k for it, Id just slide it in my toolbar and use it for the DoT, then switch to my good weapon.

Hmmm. low potency on the DOT. Its going to take more then one hit, on average, to land the dot. That is not shots fired. Nor does that include resists. There just aren't that many uses in the poison left.

I would say 8-10k. Someone here has already said 20k. Throw it up on a vendor or a friend's vendor. Put 50k on it and see what happens. Sometimes people have way too much money.

I don't think the poster was trying to mislead with the title at all. The weapon is likely NAMED elite laser carbine. The special drops are funny like that. Sometimes they don't make a whole lot of sense.

And not to thread jack, but:

Yes, our bleeds stack. I think single target and AOE dots of the same type (action, etc) all stack. ie, area health bleed + single target health bleed stack. Just like actionshot 1 and 2 stack. Also similar to area action poison + single target action poison stacking.
