Thread: Quickest way to xp Carbineer?
Hi all -- the holocron said to give up the pistols you love, and learn the ways of the Carbineer - only then will you become a melee class with a pretty flashlight sword!
I'm primarily a creature handler (4/3/3/4) - and have no knowledge of the carbine (other than stats and such learned from being a weaponsmith), or how to best fight with it.
Could I please get some advice from those who play the profession on how to best get experience to advance through the profession in the most quick and efficient way? Not sure which shots hit the best, but I believe one of them should be an area effect that I could probably use in conjunction with the mauler and do well?

Hunt Blurrg on Endor. With my GSP I'm soloing 20k missions out of the smuggler outpost. Each Blurrg I kill gives 4200 carbine xp. Its the best way I've found so far. Its also nice not having to worry about those **edit** Voritors poisoning your pets.

Recently dropped pistol myself, was 3/4/4/3 but decided to save the combat xp for an automatic 0/0/0/2 in carbineer soon as I get novice. SO I have the same questions as you...
I've been hunting voritors and pikets on Dant, I'd recommend it to you as well. Avg 2-4k xp per kill.

I'm specifically looking for tactics - like which shots are good and which ones don't work that great - and if the area cone multiple target things is as effective as I am hoping.

Trust me on this, get buffed, migrate points tomind pools, and use Charge Shot. You'll get there very fast.
actually I timed myself. I transfer from commando/smuggler to bh/carbineer, since I need master carbineer for holo as well.
first work til you get 1/0/0/x, then scatter shot 1 your way until you hit BH carbine 3, by then your speed should be around +65. then 3/0/0/x for scatter shot 2 now, head to lok, take nym/pirate mission, 3 fire knockdown and just spam scatter 2, you get 60k carbine xp every 10 minute or so, I did master carbineer in about 3 weekends.
with Bh 0/0/3/0 and master carbineer, you still have 15 points so you can pick up medic, which let you stim your self for 300-600 ham, and get to use wound pack to heal up to 160+ wounds.
your finally stats would be around +105 carbineer speed, +180 carbineer accuracy(probably can bull-eye a penny at 300 meters lol). buy around 1 good crate of ryshcake and1 good crate of breath of heaven, take 2 ryshcake and 1 breath of heaven you are set. one of the highest damage template in the game.
above stats are done without factor in any powerup or +stats item on equipments.
