Thread: How does counterattack work exactly?
I've had the Infiltrator title before counterattack received the boost from +20 to +80, from the recent major patch. However, I still don't understand how it works. Can someone enlighten me? I've seen the 'dodge' animation occur, but that doesn't exactly explain anything.
- What exactly is the 'counterattack'? From what I could see, I take damage as well, and possibly return some damage in return. But I suppose I'm not very observant if there is something more to it.
- Why isn't there SPAM that says +counterattack+ over you head, like you see those on creatures and opponents?
- What activates counterattack? Does it only work on melee, ranged, and/or specials? I've seen the 'dodge' animation against humaniod opponents and weak creatures, but not against stronger creatures like rancors.
I couldn't ask a lot of people since there isn't too many in the carbineer field, so any information would be helpful. Sorry if this post is redundant, but I might not get a reply if I simply clipped my questions to an older post.
I guess I'll field this one. ![]()
Counterattack works just like block or dodge, the damage that would have been done to you is nulled and you take none. You don't attack back or anything like that, but you stillget status effects (pretty sure that's a bug).
The reason there isn't spam? Do you want spam? Just switch over to your combat tab on your chat box and watch for your counterattack message. Other than that I don't think PCs get such spam, which is a good thing if you ask me...
I remember counterattacking a Master TKA in a duel a few times, thus I'd say it works in both melee and ranged combat. I imagine that such countermoves like counterattack, dodge and block are rarer against "harder" creatures because said creatures have a much better chance of hitting you.
Did I answer everything?
