Just a quick question but what level is the highest anyone has gotten at a mission terminal when NOT grouped with pet or other people? Thanks in advance.

I was thinking about this last night as I was out on Dath soloing ER missions for a little fun and some cash. I think it's stupid that they require groups to get the higher end missions. I can obviously solo it with no trouble at all, so why can't I take it without having to group up to get it? I think they should open up all missions to everybody. If you are dumb enough to take a mission that you can't handle, that's your problem lol.

But the solution we will be given to deal with.........You won't be soloing ER missions or anything near that high

IMO the problem is with the soloing, not mission levels.....

True. Good point.

The caveat is that when you are low level (and I mean brawler/marksman level low level), this is not possible. I recently had the opportunity to start a new character, and up until I got to a low-mid level elite class, I found that the missions I got from tatooine were possible but non-trivial to do.

Not to mention that this might get some noobies into trouble. With the lack of death penalities it's less of an issue, but it is easy to get suckered into a "oh, that mission is worth 10k, if I finish it I'll be rich" mistake. Then again, I guess the condition "you get what you deserve" is true. Just make sure it is still relatively easy to get do-able missions at lower levels, and you don't need to refrest25 times to get a pair of missions in the same area.

Here's a novel idea... how about letting people choose what missions they want? The minute or two you spend standing next to the terminal refreshing to get the mission you want is just a meaningless time sink. If you want a ER mission, you're just going to keep refreshing until you get one. If you want one to the west, you're going to keep refreshing 'till you get that. It'd be nice to be able to say "I want two missions worth 10k to the west" and be able to get them. I mean, it is the future, you'd think filtering technology would be available.

9 min and 57 seconds until the next shuttle.......

I agree timesinks in the game are annoying, but they are the point of the game. They are the challenge to overcome, so you get a sense of accomplishment.

If you eliminated all the time sinks (including but not limited to healing after combat, wound healing, battle fatigue healing, shopping for weapons, camping krayts, surveying for resources, waiting for shuttles, buffing, etc), how much of a game would be left? What would be the point of being able to master a professionin 30 minutes, of killing mob after mob in 20 second intervals?

Time sinks are annoying, but they lend to the accomplishment of what you are doing. At some point convenience has to give way to challenge and accomplishment. I'm not saying that retrieving missions and shuttlesis where you draw the line, but realize that at some point you need "annoying timesinks" to make the game worth playing.

Edit: Yes, I played Everquest, and rather enjoyed it. Can you tell?

But it shouldn't take me longer to GET an ER mission than it does to actually complete the mission

And yes I do kill the first two spawns in just over ONE minute on any level of ER mission

SOLUTION - make the darn missions take longer and be harder.....its coming.....but no lottery numbers from me

Agreed, TAfirehawk. As for when it will happen, to steal a phase from the devs "wait for the combat rebalance".

Yes. Quote TAfirehawk: "On Dath the lowest level is 40.....so anybody can get that "

Or did I misunderstand?
