Always assume the Krayt is 15m away, they tend to warp about a bit, especially in heavy lag, so keep moving, don't judge his position by the screen or the overhead map, judge it by when you get the target out of range Speaking of the overhead map, put it on, and ramp the field of view to maximum, this gives you good vision to see where you're goin to avoid running into any other mobs.

If you don't have terrain negotiation, then try and keep on the flat, but if you do then use it to your advantage by keeping the snare on him. You have a 5-10 second window with crippling shot once it runs out before the Krayt resumes his normal speed then promptly legs it to you, use this to get as far as possible from him then alternate between spamming crippling and legshot until the snare sticks. Be very, very careful if using supression fire due to the cone, last thing you want is to aggro some Krayts nearby and to meet your legs, arms and head in the stomach.

Don't use the KD unless you can't get the snare to stick, it's a life saver if things start to go wrong and the last thing you want is to have used the KD 15 seconds ago and the timer still has 15 seconds before you can re-apply. Keep KD for emergencies.

You don't need an uber gun, nor anything special. I solod my first one with nothing more than a junk gun (15k from a shop, 73 SAC, 871 max damage, didn't bother pupping it), blob candy and some booster blue (which ran out 2/3rds of the way through the fight since I'd applied it 10 minutes earlier).

It's all about tactics and knowing when to apply the snare. Dealing with the lag is the hardest part, but try it during offpeak times (very late at night or early morning) and you should find it no problem

I as well must thank you for the info. Coming out of Tusken bunker yesterday I had 6..got that 6 krayts spawn on top of me..i didnt think they spawned around there..but there were 2 ancients, 1 juvie, and 3 adolescents...having no room to kite w/o drawing anothers attention i sadly had to run away like a coward (read: SMART) lol

Very nice guide mate,

got some add-ins tho

If you have no terrain negotiation there is food called "travel biscuits" which does when experimented well 18+ terrain negotiation. The filling on it is quite low, too.

Also bio engineered clothing is working again, some of them have terrain negotiation aswell.

Keep an eye out for obstacles like rocks and such; once you loose the line of sight to the dragon it will start retreating and regenerating ridiculously fast their health.

Now happy hunting

i solo krayt night and day, i tend to find even with foods and with a killer carb, it still takes about 15min to solo one where as i take out giant in about 4mins, always keep it rooted or snared, check when your root will wear off so youknow to put another one one, you can check how much time your root has left by placingyour mouse in the icon that indicates that its rooted, another thing, i wudnt solo ancinets anyway becuz for the time it takes to kill it ,the pay off isnt the best, they dont drop like giants, and there alot harder to kill with one person so take along a guildie to help with an ancient. but if you insist take alot of action foods like breath of heaven and blob candy and nuetron pixie, normally ill just use food and drink and not stims cuz if you do it right you dont need them. best advice, always keep a root or snare, between snares and roots do as much as much damage as you can becuz they heal like a mother

Lets hope the Devs fix Krayt hunting (and other high-end content) so this solo junk stops......

While I understand this can be done, it is actually the closest thing to an 'exploit' you can do in-game without getting in trouble......but of course the Devs 'fixed' the loot table on Krayts while people can solo them so the 'exploit' isn't worth much

Ah, but as carbineers they still drop tissues which is the only loot we really want Plus it's a bit more of a challenge than killing an Aa'kuan or Bol Can I solo Ancients? Yeah. Do I prefer doing it in a group? Yeah. There is no way to make them unkillable for the solo player unless you remove all snares and roots from the game and even then I'm sure we could find a way to do it

I think the new elite-Loots are the secret fix for Krayts. With the top pearls not dropping any more and weapon components which beat the krayt tissue being available, the Krayt simply is not the end game any more.

It remains a fearsome beast, but from a loothunters point of view, the Krayt gets less interesting. The new loot is to be obtained from ranged enemies, though, so the kiting approach doesn't work any more. (Yes, i fear that the cyberarm guys actually are still able to pull the stunt, but it's much more difficult now.)

I personally wouldn't be surprised if some higher quality alternative for a Krayt pearl would be found onsome very tough ranged NPCs in the next time. (And i still hope that the loots in some time can be found on other targets, not only on BH elite marks... this game still has other professions except BH and Jedi, would be nice if they could also have access to some of the new content.

Thanks for the guide..I re-subscribed a few weeks ago and went carbine cause I couldnt use the rifle i had and a friend of mine said Carbines were the way to go with BH.

Ive always wanted to take on Krayts solo, this guide confirms what i was thinking one had to do, but was afraid to try

Thanks for the info.
