Personally i have never had the problem of 'killing myself' due to high ham costs. I mean if you use regular shots your ham bar doesn't move, right? I only see the difference when i start to spam special shots (Burst, Full Auto Area 2, Legshot 3) Am i missing something?

Do some crippling and chargeshot they are all around 100 to 120 HAM costs. With a fast carbine you hit zero action in about 12-15 seconds.

Yes - normal attacks use no HAM costs, but once you begain to fight tougher mobs, or fight in groups, normal attacks are generally not the bread and butter of combat, specials are.

In addition, other professions(some, not all, melees use a ton for example) can use their specials are drastically lesser costs than us. Pistoleers for example use very small amounts of HAM compared to us, and even riflemen use less.

I can't give you exact numbers, but I do know that pistoleers can use some specials quite a few times without noticing a dent in their HAM, while carbineers can litterly drop their action bar to 0(or close enough) with 5-8 specials(some of which take around 150 or more).

So the problem is high HAM costs reletive to other ranged professions, and our damage.
