Hey all,
I just got my 2nd account recently, and made a new character who I want to be a master carbine, master ch. I am kinda curious about something. I came from a wookie background, and they have no armor. The new character is a human, with armor. I got a full set of high level unsliced composite, and it works well for shruging off the damage.
I have found it saves my life quite a bit...but I also found another problem...
The specials for carbines about kill my HAM, literally. I use any area attacks, or bleed (action shot 2?), and boom my health is down like 1/8th, and action even more.
What is the general suggestion on this. Is it best to grind with armor, even with a pet so that I can keep from dying (so far never died with this character, not even close)? Maybe it's best to totally unequip it and rely on buffs to stay alive? Buffs with armor help, but I still see a considerable drop in HAM when I use a special.
What does everyone else here do?
Thanks for any help/answers.

Wow- must be pretty ordinary buffs...
I have a suit of Comp and when buffed I see little reduction in my HAM bars, if at all. Are you getting all stats buffed? Or just primes?I suppose my Composite all encumb sliced and it was pretty light to begin with.. so I don't know. Another question what are theHAM costs on your carbine? what specials are you spamming?
Being a carbineer is like being a juggler-youcan't afford to lose sight of the whole thing.

as a carb/ch i go for mid lvl comp (60-70s resists) just to get low HAM costs, then i just keep getting em untill i have had a good encumbarance slice on em.
Then with Doc buffs (i get about 2k buffs usually) i can just blast away quite safely...
Just a point though, i do have a guildmate armorsmith that just grinds them Comps for us (customs) and i have met and made alot of doc friends, so its easy to get buffed nicely.

wear your armor that is your best bet. CH is a bit buggy at this time . Im a recently former CH myself and enver wore armor until the CH nerf, never needed to.
Far as your buffs they must have been mediocore or you have very very high encumberd comp armor.
My only problem in my comp armor has been my mind. I bought a suit of stun layerd and got all effect slices so im sitting on over 900 encumberment. After spicing, brandya nd moun my focs and will are still a tad evenw ith these default at 1k.
I learned a seceret I wear elsser armor in my case ST armor that was partly effect lsiced and partial encumberment sliced for a total of just under 500 encumberment. throw on one of the enw Imperial sheild gens with 50% effect down the line and im almsot equal to base composite. Not to shabby for somethng that started at 30%.
Plus I have about an extra 500 pts in my focus and willpower to help fend agsint CM and riflemen as well as TKA/brawlers.
Honestly I can say Ive died far less witht his set up then with my near million credit composite. /shrug

See Sig below.....
All you need is a 75% Kinetic Ubese suit and then your poor buffs will work. I still wear my Comp Suit, ~55%, because it has +25 Carbine Speed ![]()
