Thread: Is It Worth Dumping Charge Shot to get Counter Attack?

As an MBH dabbling in Carbineer, I humbly ask Carbineers there opinion:



After much mental anguish, I think I'm gonna stay with Carbineer dabbling instead of pistol dabbling.


So the question becomes which Carbineer lines. I'm convinced extra accuracy always helps, but I'm not so convinced that charge shot is worth it.


Would it be better to ditch charge shot column and put those points into Counter Attack? It would be nice to have at least a little bit of defense!

Well, you'll only have like, 60 counterattack.. but that will also grant you Burstshot2...


Burstshot2 is an AE shot that is very, very awesome (simliar to Fanshot in pistoleer.. only.. better).. and seeing as you already have a KD shot or two (FireKD, Underhandshot), I'd go with burstshot2.


It's really your choice. AE KD with no defenses, or an AE Shot with a little defense. Personally, I'd go for it.

Thanks for the reply.


The reason I'm thinking about dumping charge shot is because I already have KDs in BH line and chargeshot is not as good as it used to be.


Another reason is that I've read from some BHs that there isn't much difference between getting one box of Counter Attack (+20) and all 4 of 'em (+80)


However, though I haven't used it, I'm told that Full Auto Area is a mean stunning/dizzy attack. But again, since I already have those attacks in BH(though they aren't area), leads me to wanting to go for Counter Attack.


I've also thought about giving up one box of accuacy to get the 4 full boxes of counterattack.


Thoughts?

Scattershot2 is pretty good, as it easily hits mind.. but then again.. you're an MBH, and could easily whip out the scatter pistol and Eyeshot... I don't really see an advantage to doing the accuracy line.. I'd do 0340. Crippling shot is the most powerful Carbineer attack, and if you can spam it at the 1 second cap.. it's devasting.

Of course, we can use Suppresion Fire 1 now already. Is Suppression Fire 2 that much better?


Supression2 is pretty much the same as suppression1 from what I've seen. Pretty crappy.. if you want to supress your target, I'd do suppression1, or actionshot2 (AE posture change)

Mr. Rivers, thanks for replying to my emails!


I'm leaning toward going for all 4 boxes of counterattack. A few months ago, I read about one BH who said he had all four counterattack boxes and he could stand under attacking enraged rancors and not even get hit before he killed them all.


That sounds pretty dandy to me! And counterattack has to help some in PvP.


Why do you think some BHs prefer 0403 Carbineer to 0340 Carbineer?

Go with the 0/3/4/0 you get defense, an area posture down in action shot 2 and an area damage attack in burst shot 2 (6x damage multiplier). Not to mention great accuracey, Cripple shot and eventually an area actionspecial in leg shot 3.


I hear people saying Chargeshot 1 has a better chance to knock down then either underhand or fire knockdown but frankly i find they all have the same chance. As for charge shot 2 i find its easier to effect creatures and players with action shot 2. No foods for anit posture change. Now lets face it in a PVP match BH against a group of people just means a dead BH. So charge 2 and full auto 2 wont make that big a difference. In PVE dizzy doesnt really effect creatures so full autos while decent shots arent neccesary.


Bh is focused mostly on 1vs1 combat it seems to me that 0/3/4/0 adds to that by boosting accuracy and defense in addition to gaining some very useful PVE abilities against multiple targets.

Burstshot2 will be nice, but without Master you wont even notice the counterattack. I still get hit 5/10 times at master

I am a MBH with Carbine 03/4/0. I have 80 Couterattack and notice it going off quite a bit. Crippleshot/Burstshot2 are my most common attacksalong withSpray/FKD. All in all it is a decent template.
