I'm trying to figure out how to determine what is a good weapon. I'm sure this has been written about before but in my quick search, I didn't find anything. Here is what I've been doing up until now. Please tell me if there is a flaw in my logic:
((MaxDam - MinDam) / 2) + MinDam = Average Damage per shot / speed = Damage per second.
So, using that formula, my laser carbine looks like this:
269 - 60 = 209 / 2 = 104.5 + 60 = 164.5 / 4 = 41.125 damage per second.
My major question is about the speed. Is that how many seconds it takes to shoot? Or is there a base time for shooting and then the speed factor is added on to it?
Is this the right way to think or am I way off base?
