Thread: Counterattack... how does it function?

As far as I can tell, a countattack doesn't actually inflict damage on the opposing creature. Am I wrong? The combat log just says that I counterattack but never that my counter attack ever inflicted any damage of any kind.

If it does inflict damage, it would seem a hair superior to dodge and block.

The Devs know it is broke..... % chance to counterattack is waaaay to low.....

Counterattack itselft does not damage, it just doesn't take away an attack round like Dodge and Block do, so in effect you get a free attack.

Counterattack works well if you have Center of Being.

Doesn't work well if you don't. Even 120 counterattack just doesn't counterattack often enough...

It just seems to be broken for carbineers. I used to counterattack fine when I had MHS, even without CoB.

It currently just negates an attack in my opinion. You don't lose a round I think, but then you don't lose a round when dodging either I'm pretty sure (I'm a carbineer/fencer).

I have a near Master Pistoleer and it sure seems like Dodge takes away an attack round. As Master Carbineer I do Counterattack some but never notice as the firing rate stays the same. The only way I know I Counterattack is a friend telling me he saw it in a duel or checking the Combat Log. With the Dodge animation and lack of firing for one round it is obvious when that happens.
