Thread: Carbineer is fun, but challenging
I like carbines for all the same reason...its not currently uber, so its a challenge; after master you still have to put effort into being a true master (w/ skill attachments, above par weapons, etc) and the specials are fun.
I have one recommendation that might help you get xp easier when solo. If you fight ranged npc (ie faction or destroyer missions) you might have an easier time killing the stuff. Using area attacks to control a group of npc's is the carbineer forte, and mowing down a group of dudes is just plain fun. The problem with these missions is that they dont give as much xp as creature missions.
Also once you reach marksmanship IV you are granted a 25 bonus to accuracy which helps a great deal!
That's why Carbineer is the "thinking man's" combat class... we don't have that "ub3r spammable" special and we've adapted with tactics...
efficient and skillful use of dizzy, stun, blind, KD, and posture change make a HUGE difference... you can freeze a target in place, and make them flop, all the while stun and blind make your target less effective at fighting back...
it's a beautiful thing being a Carbineer...
I agree, this is my first real 'master' prof that I am sticking with. I am now a Carb 4/0/1/1 and it just gets better each box I obtain. The more I learn about our specials, the more fun it is to play. Creating killer combos to beat baddies is fun...and learning the best combo per baddie is challenging. IMHO this prof rocks and keeps me involved with the game. Who wants to solo an uber baddie like a Krayt or Enraged Rancor anyway? If killing the baddest monster is easy, then the game is not challenging enough.
Actually I find it very fun to "solo" in the middle of Rancor Valley with 20+ Rancors around
Well as long as my pets are with me ![]()
But your point is very well made and most Carbineers here agree with you. Carbineer play style is not for every gamer out there, but for those style it matches, it is quite rewarding to play CARBINEER ![]()
Besides CH, I can't think of a better profession for group PvE......and I have both WOOT WOOT ![]()
And we can be real strong in PvP, but it takes uber tapes, uber weapons, and uber armor to match the "average" PvP'er......that part is sad, but it can be done with enough money.
