Thread: It's cool when our profession's skills work

I'm a master carbineer (and have been for some time now)...and I thought it would be nice to share a pleasant carbineer-ing experience.

I was visited by the old man recently, and I have started my first long leg of FS unlocking. I chose the combat prowess and started getting search and destroy missions. First off, realize that I was buffed up and drank some brandy, but I'll skip right to the point: I solo'ed 7 sith baddies (most only a yellow con but chunked out 3.3k carbine xp per) and two lurking sheer mites that got in the way using our area attacks. I almost lost all mind (ham cost issues), but I eek'ed it out while they went down fairly fast - i shoulda looked at the log to see (combo'ed as2, faa2, cs2, ws2 with a laser carbine).

It was a beautiful site to see

Anyone else have examples of POSITIVE carbine experiences?

Yes, carbine works great for sith camps and transport crash sites. Did the supply missions with 0-0-4-0, a nice speed sliced laser carbine and the help of some action area poisons. Sweet. Proves that all is not lost for carbine: we are strong against bigger groups of enemies.

Solo'ed some mokks and it was fun using carbs instead of the usual tactice of spamming LDA asa pistoleer. Used confussion shot, knockdownfire, then crippling shot...Was easy...perhaps too easy?

Confusion Shot is from the BH Carbine tree.

Yup. My SWG experience for a good 8 months now. Most fun I've had with any profession.

While I tend to PvP with Carbineer more often than not, the principle is the same. Using FullAutoArea2 on large concentrated groups works rather well - I'm able to stun, dizzy and blind just about everyone in a few seconds. I can tend fire a few posture downs and even KDs, and will often see several flop down.

Thanks for the info. How about substituting full auto single 2 for confusion shot in the "confusion shot ---> supressing fire ---> crippling shot" maneuver? Not as good I know, but is it practicable? After all not everybody has enough skill points for BH.

Just as good, yup. Confusion shot has the benefit that it does good damage and inflicts a rather "sticky" dizzy above all else.. but FullAutoSingle2 for us carbineers is just as good.

I prefer ActionShot2 instead of SuppresionFire myself, but I have both toolbared for those odd situations.
