Master Carbine 4/4/4/4
Bounty Hunter 0/4/0/0
Creature Handler 4/4/3/0
Scout 4/0/4/0

Ok I finally did it. I dropped some of my CH to pick up the Carbine BH tree and I must say that I have never been more effective. I clear out regular Rancor lairs with just one pet and a droid in half the time I did with three pets and a droid unbuffed. I have also noted a distinct difference in advantage in PvP. I have made adjustments to my stable of pets to take advantage of my higher accuracy and speed. I have found that I am favoring the Merek Cavern Creeper’s and the Boar Wolf Ravager’s for my PvP and PvE encounters. They both have pretty high kinetic and energy resists and their specials of Stun, Blind, Poison, and Intimidate help me do the deed better than ever with my newly enhanced Carbine capabilities. I have added several Carbine specific attachments to my clothing and armor also to cap myself. The only thing I need now is some above average Carbines to use to good effect.

Anything with Master Carbineer and the BH Carbine line is pretty good for both PvE and PvP - I've never really seen the CH mix with that, but Carbineer/CH is a popular combination as well. Above all, I think, you're merging the two most "fun" things to do with pure Carbineer.. BH and CH, which is way cool.

Looks good. A bit low on the defenses, but for PvE that doesn't matter too much, and in group PvP it should be OK.

You are right about the defense part of the template being low. I counter this with extra little tidbits in my armor and clothing. I also make full use of the defensive Chef buffs out there. I’m not saying I am uber but I am saying that I am not the big juicy target that most folks think Carbineers are. I used to use my pets as that extra edge. I know them well and have a wide variety of them with differing defense capabilities for different situations. Now with my template change I find that I only need one pet with reasonable defenses versus energy and kinetic. What I need out of the pet is state applications of dizzy, stun, intimidate, position change and poison. I hope you see where I am going with this and if you don’t I would love to meet with you and duel.

Better to be good at one thing, and somewhat at others, than be somewhat with a bunch of professions, just a philosphy i follow.

In PvE, he's got his meatshield, which is interesting, since he can only have one pet out. Personally, I'd go with two pets and some mix of Sweesonberry Rolls and buffs for them.

I agree, Janu, 0443 CH is a much better option.....I am one box from 0444 CH

Gotta love 10k Health, light armor, 55% Kinetic Resist, level 22 pets

Unless you're a defense stacker, in which case diversity is key.

I was thinking about a simular Template but I want to master CH and I can't drop my novice medic just comes in too handy.

I used to feel the same way about my back up Medic skills. I just got to the point where I was never attacked and if I was I was able to switch the agro to my pets. The only reason I buff now is to be able to use my specials at will not for protection so I dropped my Medic skills and went with out them to see if it would make any difference. I found the only draw back was not being able to heal my pets as quickly as I wanted. I got around that by having more than one of the same type for certain battle situations. Then I started adding my Battle Droid into the mix and everything became a bit more manageable. With it doing its thing the kills went a lot faster. As a result I do not carry any Medic skills anymore. If I feel that I am going to get my head handed to me I bolt, run, skitter, and hop my butt out of there as fast as my /burstrun can take me. Don’t get me wrong though there have been a few moments I really wanted those Medic skills back. /laugh

I may give it a go if I can find a good supplier of pet stims, it wouldn't take much to get novice medic again.

ps.. Woot community member now!

I did ok against the middle level ones with my old template. Now I have no idea. I use very high melee resist pets and rely on them to apply the dizzy and posture down status affects to my humanoid targets to get the flopping fish syndrome. It worked very well with my old template. I have not tried it out with the new one yet. I will start at the bottom and move to the top to see how it works this weekend.
