From this discussion and others about RL weapons:
I will let everybody know my standpoint.....and this relates to the discussions in the Corr Forum.
I don't give a rats arse about how SWG relates to RL accuracy in much of any way. This is A Galaxay Far Far Away and if I wanted realistic fighting I would download America's Army.
And my number ONE concern is BALANCE....then Carbineer second. Some of you might not like that, but I have played almost all other profs and I think I do a good job of seeing both sides of the fence. This games needs BALANCE, not 10,000 Rifleman or Jedi or whatever the FotM happens to be.....

/raises hand in agreement
Until then I favor using the imbalance to blow the opposition out of the water in group engagements. Then after the balance I look forward to blowing the opposition out of the water using better tactics.

Carbiners were infact scaled down rilfes..
Napoleon and Britan wanted their Calavary to use guns but they had trouble carrying those huge rilfes so they used a basically half sized rilfe *which was a carbine* then the most popular Carbines later on in History were the
M18, M40, Tommy Gun or Thompson and the ppsh. Which in their times excelled at Urban combat but did poorly on the field.

Since I don't use specials much unbuffed I often do mission Calavary style on my dewback when I do missions that don't quite require buffs. Although I recommend accuracy while moving skill attachments when doing in Storm Troopers they seem to run like little girls.

LMAO. They must be talking about a galaxy farther, farther away than Gorath, because I've seen more civil war in Canada thanthat which I've seen on Gorath.

I really have no argument with your comments on the GCW. It seems even on the most hardcore PvP servers that everyone is distracted by this or that. Very few players can get enough support to participate in the GCW if they are interested. What do you think is the reason for this? I am very interested in your opinion.
It's really quite simple... The PvP system in SWG is down right horrible, and even after many attempts to fix it, SOE keeps coming up short.

But do you think that it is so broken that it can not be salvaged?

Given the fact that we are sitting at 16 months after launch and it is still horrible, yes. I'll tell you my biggest reason why as well... Games evolve. Technology evolves. Over one year later, there are new games coming out that are made with better technology. Why should anyone stick around and keep playing a game that is notoriously bad in the PvP area if they consider PvP the end-game content and make it their ultimate goal? I for one am not going to. For those that shun me for "not sticking it out" or "giving up," you are very wrong. I have stuck it out. I am not giving up on SWG. I am not bitter about the game (though I would have been much happier if changes we were told were going to take place last January actually did). I am simply evolving into the next game I plan on playing for the next year to come.
If I touch an electric fence, I get zapped. If I touch the fence again, I get zapped again. Sooner or later, I am going to learn not to touch the fence. So, rather than try and climb over the electric fence SOE likes to call a core game system (which is the REAL reason there is no balance in the game) and try to get to the other side (a balanced game), I am simply walking away. My coarse now has a new heading.

That is why the devs are creating a whole NEW combat system. Like one of the corr's used the analogy of a rusty old shed, instead of repairing it, it was much more effective to tear it down and make a new one.

I must apologize. I asked the wrong question. I also agree that the current combat system needs an overhaul. What I meant to ask is this.
Is there a way to have a good time doing Base Raids and Large Scale combat in the current system?
I believe I have found a way to do this. I also think I have found a way to bring out others like myself to make the GCW fun no matter what side you are on or what Combat system is being used broken or fixed. Hopefully I will be able to show everyone very soon.
