Need help deciding on a template, and I am looking to keep Master Doctor. I also want to be Good in PvE, and alright in PvP. I will also have 18 SP left over. Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks!

Give the current system i would use those skill points toward FS skills to supplement carbineers. Right now melee speed effects carbines, and ranged speed does nothing. Also novice brawler for intimidate would help in PvP

I have also heard good thing about Master Rifleman and Master Swordsman. I also thought carbines maybe better than both for PvE, although I cant be sure.

Master Doc and Master Rifle is pretty much what you're looking for.

As a stand alone class Rifleman and Swordsman would be stronger for direct PvE damage output. Rifles have great single target potential. Swordsman really shine with melee AoE attacks. Carbineers real strength in PvE lies with Ranged AoE Cone Attacks, but at the moment +60 Speed is a real handicap.

One of my characters is a 4/4/4/0 Doctor +Carbineer, the rest of my skill points are devoted towards FS skills.
In all honesty, under the current format Carbineer is very difficult to be good with in PvP, in all honesty...take people with the exact same skill levels, and in PvP a Rifleman will beat a Carbineer, because Rifleman is much easier to supplement, and has a wider variety of important attacks in PvP (ie: mind damage with speed capped Heavy AP weapons.)
In PvE, Carbineer can be really effective, especially if you dish out the money to get skill enhancing speed tapes/accuracy tapes.
this is not to say Carbineer is bad in PvP, but with the current system of the game, its far from ideal.

I am afraid I have to agree with the previous posters.....Carbineer is not very good without mixing in other Combat Profs.
Of course if you are looking to support a group and not play king of the mountain, then Carbineer fits that role. Once the Combat Upgrade hits, it will be very obvious what the distinct roles for each prof are and thus making it easier to choose what matches your play style.
It is hard torecommend anything but a Rifleman/Swordsman.....

How is 1xxx Scout and 4440 Doc better than Master Doc?
If you were to Go MD/MCarbs/NovBrawler/FS Melee (Ranged) Speed 3 you would like fair pretty good as a completely support based character. Get yourself a nice Kryat Enhanced E-11 ... work on inflicting states like stun/blind/dizzy/initimidate ... on top of you using your health bleed to again waste more of your opponents time. While you focus on keeping your team state free and healthy you would do just fine.
