Thread: Request for New Guns in the Combat Upgrade

I just really, really want that bothan carbine spotted in the publish 11 data files (sorry, can't find the link), but really any new guns would make me happy. Um, if anyone has any influence in the sandbox/combat upgrade can you put in a good word for it?

I don't care if it's sucky as a bowcaster, so long as it has SOME usefullness... We all know there's been no new carbines while _everyone_ save the TKs have gotten new weapons in the last several months (starting w/ nighsister pikes, then the dxr6b which I SO COVET!, then scythes, the geo blaster and de10, not sure if i got the order right but... and while fencers didn't get a new weapon that i know of, they got all sorts of aklay bones and genosian sword cores and other goodies. want a good laser carbine? you get kryat tissue, just like 2 years ago...), we're SO DUE this. It doesn't have to be uber (like the aforecoveted DXR6b) I just like the whole 'lots of guns' thing, so pleeeeeaaaaaseee put in a good word for some new toys to shoot!

The general consensus I feel is that new guns are not needed. I would much rather have them work on sorting out the core problems in the combat system.


That said new carbines would be fun and interesting, just not at the expense of the combat balance. I would love to see some new carbines after/same time as the combat revamp.

heh i shouldn't have started a new thread on this, the original thread w/ the rumored two carbines was the right place for this...

I know there are other priorities, but I just wanted to give my own personal shout-out saying more guns, even if they're not horribly useful, is always a nice thing. Oh, I forgot we DID get the enhanced E11 when the enhanced republic blaster and featherweight fwg5 came out...

Yup, an effectiveness sliced PSG (55%) plus your38% stun helmet and stun chest (helps reduce encumberance, rather than wearing a full suit) and w/ medic skills to heal any random shots/hits, you'll be sporting 90% stun resist. Stun dmg is very ineffective now.

Not quite, let's say you get hit with 100 AP1 Damage from a Jawa Ion, The PSG drops is to 45, then the the stun helmet drops it to 28, overall effectiveness. about 72%


Compare it to out AP1 Acid carbine, PSG does jack all, Acid resist in most cases will be somewhere between 65 and 85.
