Just giving my favorite board an update, if you haven't seen it yet, Thunderheard posted on 10/28 a status on the CU. The gist: We should expect to see our savior, the Glorious Combat Upgrade, arrive on the test servers in Jan-Feb.

I reread thunderhearts post, you're right I totally made a mistake ... he said Closed Beta, TH said closed beta will probably not start until after the holidays And, well, after the holidays is a bit of a timeframe ... February is about as far as you can get before you start saying things like 'spring'. He gave no time estimates on open beta whatsoever, and said his idea about closed beta could be off depending on various factors.

Sorry about that, I know no one needs any more incorrect info being spread. didn't mean to spread any. Just got a bit excited I guess...

Below is the complete quote so's to absolve my sins a bit. It IS exciting to see such a relatively detailed plan and timeline, thank god I took 5 months away from this game, I can't imagine how impatient i'd be if i'd spent the intervening time waiting for the combat revamp which was already overdue when I left, which in turn was b/c I couldn't stand to wait for wookiee armor any longer.

"We have been working to complete the alpha version of Combat Upgrade since Publish 9. Initial alpha testing will start in a few weeks. We are inviting correspondents, former correspondents and five people each current correspondent has chosen to do this initial testing. We expect alpha testing to take several weeks. When we reach the point where the implementation is complete but some tuning and debugging is needed, we will begin beta testing. At this time, we will begin inviting community members in who have signed up for beta testing. The closed beta testing will probably not start until after the Holidays, dependent on how quickly the alpha testing period has progressed."
