Thread: A New Template
I was recently checking out the Fencer Forums due to the fact that I am currently grinding that prof for my Holo, and I noticed this interesting post by their correspondent. http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=fencer&message.id=11313
Has anyone tryed the Swordsmen/Carbineer template to stack all of that Counterattack? Just think with the 125 or so from carbineer and the however much from swordsmen that would be pretty mad. Throw in Teras Kasi Meditation branch and you got one hell of a template. I have seen several people on my server do the Pikemen/Riflemen & TK Meditation branch and it's just wicked because riflemen usually own Pure Carbineers. I'm also wondering what's more effective Carbineer/Swordmen & TK Meditation or Carbineer + BHer Carbine 3+ Nov Medic. Would be interesting to have those two templates fight.
Good luck with that template by the way, I heard that the dodge/block/counterattack no longer stacks between different weapon types. Let us know what you find out.
My whole point there is that the special attacks have a set damage modifier, I believe I've heard that crippling shot multiplies your damage by 7.5. Any variation in the amount of damage you actually do is based solely on the guns stats. There is a huge difference between 40-340 damage and 155-333 damage, obviously one is going to be waaay more consistent than the other.
I've also HEARD that the medium armor piercing bonus is not being calculated in in PvP. So can someone explain to me the benefits of using a laser carbine? I just don't see it.
By the way, since you're talking about combo's, I rarely even use fire knockdown anymore. I usually open with chargeshot, hit 'em hard while they're down, and watch them try to run when they get up, it's great!! I have pretty much found fireKD to be wasteful, either the dizzy doesn't stick, or they don't fall over. In both cases I have to follow up with another shot, eitehr to dizzy or knock them down, and it costs too much to be using two to three times.
I have also tried the scattershot spam technique. The person I used it on was buffed, that's why I used it, heh, and by the time they fell even though they fell to their mind I had acutally done about twice as much damage to their action bar as I did their mind. I did a little math and concluded that if I had used cripplingshot instead I would have eliminated them faster, even though I would have been primarily attacking enhanced bars.
Wow!!! I really started rambling there didn't I? Well I hope this helps you some, and if not you then someone else who happens to be reading this but chooses not to respond.
i'll probably go swordsman after i finish off pikeman, just for the counterattack bonuses.

im open to crisitism and would actually love to hear it. I'm looking at being able to take on higher level content while we wait for the combat rebalance.
