I was wondering if Master Doc/Master Carbine would work for pvp. The only experience i've had with Carbine was when i did it for BH and that was like last year. So i was just wondering if that would be a successful combo. Thanks guys

Im ina guild of 300 plus people/charactors.........out of that im aware of = zero carbineers.

Hopefully this will change in combat revamp, cos carbines feature much in the movies, but this is just based on star wars universe game....

Anyway if u want master doc plus range id recommend rifleman at present fur T21s armour penetration and dmg (strafe shot/headshot3) plus cover bonus if u pve alot.

Sorry but at present carbines does seem to lack appeal, which is wrong but who knows over nxt few months things may change.

Master doctor/Master carbineer is a very good build IF:

You have +25 speed tapes ( an absolute must)

A very fast carbine to speed cap ( I think it needs to be 2.4 speed or so to cap crippling shot with 85 speed)

Accuracy tapes

Some kind of mind DoT... ( PVP ) carbines can do very well in PVP vs melee, but unless you have some kind of insane damage carbine, you really aren't going to hurt ranged players very much, and doctors will also present a challenge. Doc + carbines can be good but it lacks speed which is very important.

I'm a carbineer and I have medic skills. The combo does help my surviability as a carbineer. While a Doctor/ Carbinee combo will work well for PVE and well balanced hunting groups, it will most likely prove ineffective for solo PVP combat. Carbineers have poor defensive cabability and limited damage options. Combine that with The higher HAM cost of Carbines and the superior armor that's typically deployed by PVP players you may find your self quickly overwhelmed.

On the oppsite side of the coin, I've done PVP in large groups as a carbineer and Carbines have proved absolutly devastating. A good Laser carbine can deliver a respectable amount of fire over a good distance. When multiple players are duking it out. You can kite several targets while the melee fighters finish the job.

I know this looks like I am continually picking on you, but guessing about numbers that are widely published in the FAQ must be corrected (YES, that is my job here)......and I just happen to be the first one to correct it...

+85 Carbine Speed will Speed Cap our slowest Specials on a 2.6 Weapon or faster.

+25 Carbine Speed SEA's are not an absolute must.....a 1.0 Weapon Speed does not need any SEA's....

I have a pretty wicked Krayt Enhanced E11 that is 1.1 Speed I think.....

I also have a Krayt Laser at 1.8 Speed that packs quite a punch....

So please don't doubt the weapons a Carbineer can get....while not cheap, it can be done.

Out of simple curiosity, is your guild PvP, PvE or crafting oriented? In terms of the latter two, there are perhaps wiser choices as far as Carbineer goes.. but just to give you a quick idea of how effective we can be..

Our guild is primarily PvP oriented (and we're the best at it, too ), and out of a group of about 10 of us, we always have atleast 1-2 Carbineers. At one point, we had 3 Carbineers out of 15 active members who PvP'd regularly.

I find it odd (and a bit sad) that out of 300 members (yikes!), there isn't even one.
