Thread: Will Revamped Ranger have Carbine as a pre-req? Dev quote leads me to say yes.

I know I'm assuming alot here, but by this little quote at the end I believe that similar to SL needing pistol xp to advance, Ranger will now need Carbine xp. I think the pre-reqs might be something like one line of Scout and Carbine IV.

If they want ranger to seem more like a combat character then this will definatly go down just as you say. When you think of carbineers think of the Clonetrooper in Ep. III who was dodging lasers so that he may jump up on a droid and unload a full auto burst. The key here is "full auto" and they seem to want rangers to have a kick ass style now.

Lol i dought it ranger is now recon armor so i see more pistol or rifle.

well, look at it like this.

Squad leader requires pistols
BH requires xxx4 marks
why not have ranger require carbines? its the next logical step (also with their hinting, i think thats what will be happening)

That would allow Mcarbs/MRangers to pick up 4000 CM which seems sorta wrong, it'll create a huge FOTM. Plus it'd make the other 3 trees of the scout prof useless.

The Ranger, from all we can tell, will probably have two lines of scout as requirements.
