Thread: To settle dispute between BH/Carb for weapons. I propose Tanks/TA Fight To Determine Certs.

More of a joke than anything, but for the remaining undeclared certs, why not let our respective correspondants and maybe a few of their hand picked partners duel it out with master level ablities on CU when the testing is about over. Lets the winner get first pick of which carbine they want that is still undecided.

at this point theres gonna be a revolt if carbineer doenst get the last 2

It is very unwise to dis the Bounty Hunters Guild. We got the eye shot and the torso shot and proton carabine and czerka dart.......and well many of us are master carabineers too.

There has always been some rivalry between the fewcarbineers/pistoleers that dont want to get BH just to maketheir professionwork better, and the BHs. Throwing the proton, the one gun every1 wants, but carbineers naturaly feel they should have the right to, has sparked this rivalry to peek and questions of professional biasthat might taintthe developers surface once more. It is my personal opinion that it WAS A BAD MOVE from the start, for the developers to plan on giving BH 2 high-end carbines, (especially the two that are most enviable in combination ofappearence and stats), and not deliver the same respects to carbineer. To make matters worse, carbines has had very, very, little attention these last years and to have the few weapons that already existed given a stat boost along with an extended appearence and pass them off as "Master" level weapons, simply wont keep those who havelong been anxious for carbines to have greatness content.
Note that this is coming from the thoughts of a rifleman, seemingly the most loved of the professions. Though I do agree that bounty hunter should have its own carbine, it shouldnt be given two- not when the core elite profession is left with the the table scraps of this update and with no formitable, previous weapons to fall back on, (such as the DE10, Tenloss Disruptor, Geonosian Blaster, ect). The only thing I can think of that would satisfy both BH and Carbs, is to allow BH one carbine disigned like the CU Scatter, (a weak model for novice and a much stronger one for master) , that would allow for advancement without the carbine line, and giving the other, whether it be the Needler or Proton to Master Carbineer. I really dont see developers making multi-profession certifications, not when they plan on all professions being different yet co-equal, even though many people may want this.
Thats my personal opinion, and I tried not to let my biasagainst BH interfer to greatly.

Out of curiosity, were any of the new Rifles given to another profession as well, or only to Riflemen?

commando got the proton rifle, SL got the beam rifle, and theres still 2-3 rifles with undecided certs

I totally agree with that. In speculation maybe they are more so trying to promote bh to 1) Clean up the ever growing Jedi population or 2) Promote more roleplaying by amplifying the power and variety of bh's.

As a commando Carbineer, I wish the proton carbine was Commando or Carbineer. I much would rather a Carbine, as a commando than a rifle. I mean, commandos now have a rifle a pistol and knucklers. Its like they want every template I want to build, to not work.

Well, with the new lvl and certs, I don't see why the devs just stop all of this arguring and just give MBH and MCarbs the proton carbine, since a lot fo commandos are either going carbs or BH lol....should settle it. Until the underslung carbine gets put ingame lol.
