Thread: Carbineer Skill Tree Help

Hi fellow carbineers! i was wondering if i could get some help in deciding which skills i should get, i have enough skill pts left to go up 2 whole columns and 3 boxes in another column, which would leave one column totally empty, i have no idea with specials are better then other, or which modifyers are more important then the others, so far this was what i was going to do 0 4 3 4 but i dont know if thats the best course, i was going to do 4 3 0 4 but i heard the speed modifyers arent that great, so please help!

well i can get a laser carbine with a 3.0 speed sliced, so does that mean with modyfyers the carbine will never shoot faster then 3.0 speed? because if thats the case arent all the speed modyfyers useless since u can actually get a laser carbine sliced to 2.8 speed? also do u know of how a +10 in speed effects the shooting rate, like is there an equation, does it mean it speeds up the speed by 10% or what? thanks

well, if you are a BH with the BH carbine line, i'd go 3-4-0-4 (do the speed line just for scattershot2, its pretty godly) or 0-4-3-4 (if countterattack ever actually works)


if not, go 4-3-0-4 (if chargeshot2 is ever fixed) or if you dont wanna wait for it to be fixed go 4-4-0-3

im defintly going 0 4 0 4 but i dont know if 3 4 0 4 is better or 0 4 3 4 is better, pretty much its a matter if the speed modyfyers count alot, im not a bh, i am a teras kasi artist, and commando with flamethrower 4, and a novice medic, im getting carbineer for the anti-bh perks like attacking action, which will render bh's using there pistols useless vs us, so pretty much wuts better in ur guys opinion the speed modyfyers (3 4 0 4) or the burst shot and suppression fire abilitys with counter attack modifyers ( 0 4 3 4) thank you all very much

i suggest 4/4/0/3. if you really want to wait for chargeshot2's area knockdown, then i'd go with 4/3/0/4.

speed is important.... cutting and pasting from a previous thread:
(Base Weapon Speed) * [1 - (Weapon Speed Skill/100)]

i know that a master carbineer's weapon speed skill is 60. a master carbineer would need to have a carbine 2.5 speed to shoot non-special shots at one shot per second. a non master with the speed tree would need an somewhat faster carbine. a novice carbineer might as well not worry about hitting the speed cap.

on top of that the speed tree's top skill is wildshot2. this is a very effective area of effect attack. the marksmanship tree on the otherhand adds no additional skills in the forth box.

Well, I've looked at the carbine tree alot, and when I got the first step, I noticed immediatly a change in my mission difficulty, I believe it's because I took it in the second column, having to do with Accuracy. Being more accurate, should make you more proficiant with the weapon, in theory. as far as the speed catagory, it depends on what weapon you are using, and it's speed. I say that because if you favor a sliced DH17 over the slightly more damage inflicting, but slower Laser, the speed catagory is usless. but if you like the damage, and don't want to give it up, you need the speed to make your laser shoot faster. However, if you gain a step or two in the speed column, the Laser (unless it's really slow) is probably shooting as fast as the game will let you. I don't know how the bonuses work, but I know with +50 in speed from BH, with +30 from the Marksman tree, then a carbine that is 3.0 speed or less can't shoot any faster. How does the modifier work? I'm not sure.


As far as the other parts of the carbine tree, I would have to say, they look nice, Havn't excelled in them yet, so I can't speak proficiantly on the matter, but they look worth the skill points if you have them.
