Last night I was out hunting with some friends for XP & FP. On the way to the base we cross a Bol nest and decide to lay into it. After my companions had their mind sucked, it was me, my little carbines and 2 aggro Bols left face to face. Here's how it went down:
Warninshot, declare peace. Bols run away. Charge Shot. Bol stops. Burst2, Bol takes damage, starts to come back. Warning shot, declare peace. Bol backs off.
Using this combo of 3 different specials I was able to keep two aggro Bols at a nice 50-60m distance for several minutes while my team members reouperated. And I dealt both of them quite alot of damage.
So a carbineer saved the hunt using a little tactical fighting. God save the Carbineer!

Of course if you don't have charge shot, this prof is still garbage...

Actually youre quite wrong. Burst shot, Action Shot and supression are all quite popular. Carbines can match the speed of a pistol and with multipliers put the damage of a rifle to shame. We have bleeds and knockdowns that are quite effective. And full auto area does deal damage to multiple targets in a very deadly fashion.
I guess it comes down to developing the potential in a class rather than sitting back and having broken specials handed to you.
