Now if only they'd fix my title. (master carbinier, bleh)

A few tips for aspiring masters...

If you don't mind the survival grind, or especially, if you already have survival, dabbling carbine 3 in bounty hunter is worth the exp diversion. once you have it you will be able to kill much, much faster resulting in faster progress. I did 4 boxes in 1 day in an exp grind fest today.

I just got master carbineer and then surrendered boutny hunter and scout... done deal.

Now I'm working on getting musician master, as per my holocron's command.

My thoughts on carbine...

It's quite damaging under the right circumstances but the ham cost is severely flawed, making it only possible to really use the carbine freely if you are using buffs (foods being broken hurts us a lot!). also a lot of the moves are redundant. I use charge shot 1 (if it wasn't bugged so you can spam it I probably wouldn't use it, the animation is really annoying), crippling shot, scatter shot 2, and full auto area 2. that's it. no other moves are necessary because they're all either redundant or just plain gimped.

I also hate that we share our best weapon with newbie marksmen and bounty hunters.

It'd be so interesting and fun if a cool weapon cert was in the master box, btw.

laser carbine is almost always the best. on some mobs the dxr6 is better, but not usually.

I made it to master this weekas well- dropped CH about halfway through and found that mountain krevols and rock beetles are pretty spiffy tanks even at the end. They are no GSP or Graul but I never got used to more than a GSP anyway. Like others, I found using even one GSP made the game seem "too easy" - at least for solo missions through CL25. just be sure to degroup the bug when getting missions asit *lowered* the missions I was offered, hehe.

Am almost finished doctor now as well, but let me add I had NO buffs to speak of on the way to master carbineer. Well, sometimes I'd put my crappy 150-300 b-pack buffs on stamina health and action on me or health/action on the tankingbug but that was the exception rather than the rule. They are nice but it's doable without buffs but you have to pop a LOT of stimpaks along the way. I think I popped one stimpak for almost every major kill. Two near the end (one for me and one for the pet). Master medic seems almost a profession requirement, unless you know someone who will sell you highly experimented B's/heal you along the way. I'll enjoy the buffs later when I have the materials I need to make proper buff packs I am sure.

Talus made for some nice solo hunting for the second half of carbineer. Tortons, huf duns, mutant kahmurras at the end.

The only real disappointment I had was taking a few days off to try pvp again once I was a box from master carbineer. Eyeshot eyeshot eyshot - wow, I am dead again. PVP hasn't changed since I last partook. Even with the best composite I could afford (50% to all), some pretty good slices on it, and my weak buffs to put the whole suit on, I still died almost as fast to the dreaded eyeshot as I did running around naked. The damage I was doing was pitiful in comparison to the ham drain I was doing to myself with every special. The BH pistoleer dabblerswould just stand over me and first aid themselves and then deathblow me to deal with the weak bleeds I had landed =( These were one on one battles. I did manage to kill one person but they were loading in the shuttle arrival area I think =).

I am 270k carbine XP away from Master. The grind is horrible for the carbine class since our rate of fire is slowand the constant Incapping of ourselves.

I can heartily recommened Mutated Kahmurra missions on Talus. They are cl25 missions, perfect for getting that last lil bit of experience. They don't deathblow (hooray) and seem to be limited to 2 per lair. I think I did them exclusively for the last box or two of carbineer. Hope this helps! They are AR1 but use a laser on them and you'll be golden.

Well I ground out that last 270k of xp I needed last night on atwo Bolle Bol lairs on Naboo. I was averaging 3k xp per kill. I had a guild member help me by having two bloodseeker mites on the spawns. At one time I had 10 bolle bols beating on the mites, but i used Wild Shot 2 and was doing 2k - 4k on the target and 1.5k - 2k on the others (area shot) I took out nine of them but the 10th broke from the mite and charged straight for me. I was buffed from a Doc, so I was spaming the Wild Shot 2 the entire time.

I am so glad that grind is over now. Hopefully they can fix our class, so I can really see what kind of damage i can do.
