I found a sith holocron on a darktrooper last night and it has pointed me towards Master Carbineer. I don't know anything about this profession so I hoping maybe someof you seasoned carbineers would have some helping info or tips. Right now I'm a BH pistol / CH hybrid. Should I keep master marksmen and scout? Are there any trees that compliment carbines well? Thanks for any help in advance.

Trees that compliment carbineer: BH carbine tree, CH, Doctor... oh and a master carbieeron mytold me CM works well because of action bleeds

so you could go with BH carbine, a little CH, and then go master carbineer

Well just picked up Novice carbineer and the stacking bleeds are nice. Much like the stacking health bleeds im used to with pistol but I can already see the rediculous ham costs with carbines. Does it get any better higher up the trees? I never had to use 2-3 stims per creature (without even being touched) when using pistol.

It gets worse, the higher skills use more HAM. They almost all use over 100 with a laser carbine, except maybe legshots.

Just get used to using stims, or relying more on normal attacks.

Go with medic/combat medic, being a doctor will only help you because of buffs, a master medic will heal you all the way, but a combat medic can use poisons as well, and well they are cool!

You need medic for the incredibly high HAM costs, just my opinion

hmm, i thought sith holocrons give you incorrect clues.

eh, it's still good that more people use carbine... it would be such a better profession after a few fixes i'm just hoping i don't kill myself first every time i fire my carbine

CM + C sounds like a nice combo!

The two powerful carbineer combos are:

Doctor + Carbineer = buff your secondary stats to eliminate the HAM costs = carbineer how it was meant to be played.

Carbineer + BH Carbine = kill things/people so darn fastthey call you overpowered.

Well I'm at44 3 4 so far and still climbing. I must say I feel sorry for all of you that have been playing this profession for a while. I had more of an arsenal and damage output with a small amount of pistol than I do at near master carbineer. This profession is simply impossible to play or level without buffs and has nothing going for it pvp wise. Every decent damage shot we have targets random pools. The knockdowns hardly ever land. The knockdown animation is not only annoying looking but it usually moves you out of ideal range. With pets you can do ok in pve but forget about pvp. Short range and fast attacks are king in the pvp arena. Oh well, I'm just venting after an extremely long exp grind session.

I really don't know which is worse deftech's revelation at how bad off we really are, or aram1's answer of get used to it. It really is sad that we have to "get used to it." I only wish I knew a way to slam this thread right into the dev's face's. I feel for you though man, I would almost rather have the holocron tell me to learn "master chef." At least that way I would have a good reason to drop this class. On the upside my medic/doctor/combat medic buddy abolutley LOVES to go hunting with me. That is the best advice I could give. Find a novice medic who wants to go really far in the medical professions and promise him all the xp he could ever want. =P Okay I'm depressing myself now, I think i'll stop
