Thread: Elite Vs. Laser
I Just took up carbine, so im kinda new to these, but can someone point out to me why we bother using Elite carbines? sure they look cool and all, but Laser Carbines whoop em.
Laser carbine- 240 in 3.5
Elite carbine 180 in 3.5
why?
because minimum dmg on the elite is much higher.
my guns are something like..
elite 130-260
laser 35-275
the elite rarely hits less for 1k dmg using burshot1, while the laser can hit get gimpy shots around 250-500 OFTEN.
Find some max dmg + speed power up for your elite and its gold
Lol, we've been complaining about Elites for a long time. See the true problem is the material that is used to create an Elite Carbine tends to suck on every server which leads to weapon smiths only being able to create sucky Elite Carbines. Now some people get really lucky like the other guy that had a really good Elite carbine but most of us don't. We've been asking the Devs to go more lax on the Elite like they did with the LLC so that we can actually get an Elite weapon and not a crappy carbine with a misleading name but they haven't given SOJ, our correspondent, any word on whether or not they will ever do anything with the Elite to make it Elite.

Well the current crop of elites on eclipse are running at speed 3.5 damage 110 to 190 pre slice. So with a good slice your looking at an approximate 140 to 240 damage. Add a max/min damage power up to this and then you have 160 to 320 damage. Which is pretty nice. My damage slice laser does approx 50 to 450 with a power up at speed 3.7.
At these levels the elite is certainly worth using. Against armored components I still use the laser, against unarmored the elite or a dxr6 with similar stats to the elite.

Not to mention that the elite carbine is hands down the most accurate of the elite/laser/dxr6 trio.
With the ham costs as they are now, I prefer my elite as I have a better chance of hitting and I avoid the annoying cases where I hurt myself more than I hurt my opponent which you risk with a laser carbine.
Still hoping for good/better materials to pop up on starsider though
