Thread: Elite Carbine, carbine or club?
I would like to have a developer explain to my why they put the time and effort into coding out an elite carbine when its better off as a club! Ive seen lasers which out perform them, maybe they you should have given the laser carbine last and the elite first. I love being a carbineer, but to be honost i have a better weapon selection as a riflemen or pistoleer, why didnt you actaully do a more linear growth in the carbine line. only good carbine is the laser, maybe the dxr6. anyone else have an opinion?

Actually compared to a lot of our guns it's quite good. Its my best carbine in PvP, bar none and I've seen even better ones.
The problem is that its not worthwhile over the laser in PvE and in general is not that much better(stats wise).
Its far from useless though. With a speed powerup mine is 2.5 speed and 120-204 damage. That's far more reliable than my laser which has a range of like 30-300.
But it has an AP of 1.... My LC has a damage range of 55-360 (normal gun, just a nice damage slice), 55-440 with a powerup.. With AP2, you can imagine the damage it does...
The elite carbines are all bested by not only the LC, but the DXR6 also.
the4 must have carbines are DH17 short , laser , EE3 and dxr6 - this way youare completelycovered
DH17 is the short range highrate of fire - no AP carbine with energy damage
Laser is the bread and butter carbine-almost every monster and armor have resistance to energy but I still haven't seen anything that has 100% resistance to energy(well except the night sister loreweaver but that's another story)I use mine to solo krayts(well laser and pets of course ![]()
EE3 is your heat damage - some monsters (like bols from dantooine ) have al 2 and vulnerability to heat - ee3 is awesome in this case- also a good carbine in respect to speed and damage but no ap(looks a little bit like FWG5)
DXR6 - your acid carbine - AP1 damage similar toDX2 pistol(higher ham costs and lower rate of fire - they really should give us more damage on this one) again - for monsters vulnerable to acid it's better to use this than to go through the armor
if you have 1 very good piece of krayt tissue you might wanna try E11(unless you wanna make a DH17) it's still energy but better damage variance than laserso you might hit for more consistant damage and only uses1 tissue - ideal range at 30 meters(DH17 is 25) it's just improved DH17 with added ap1
It looks to me they were expecting people to be using the DH17- E11 - eliteline of carbines- Elite is the improved E11 - slower but more damage - but then as an after thought they added laser carbine which happened to be the best gun out there. If they only changed the damage type of the elite to something we don't already have - like cold or I don't know - they probably won't do stun damage it's too powerful but maybe kinetic or electrical - yes then I'll definitely use the elite more often
