Thread: Weapon for a doctor
with decent buffs you shouldnt need to worry about ham costs. pistols shoot faster for the most part but hit for crap cabine can also cap its speed at 1 sec a shot also but its alot harder to do that. need to one dip in to bh tree witch isnt an option for you or get plus 30 carbine sae =) witch is easier said then done =)
no - that's not the only issue - we have worthles elite gun, we are the slowest shooting profession out there (even rifle gets higher speed at master than carbine) but we also get medium AP for action cost we get KD move and area of effect - we're a real good class ![]()
BTW if you do wanna be a doc go with the right class for you - creature handler - you can still do damage without going into combat - you can still heal your party and do crowd control by sending pets after the mobs - albeit you can't solo anything without some shooting skills
You can go novice smugler with the dirty fighting tree(you get a kd(low blow)and feign death and last ditch - the most powerful pistol attack) and pistoleer with the special abilities tree(for the speed)and 2 skills in marksmanship for general aiming
or you can be doc master TKA - you can't really do any healing for the group but I hear it's the best solo fighter without pets out there and in the new update they really make TKAs be good tanks
I'm very fond of the Doctor/Carbine combo, all except for one thing that has been noted above by a few people. The combat queue delay. If you're using a laser carbine(considered the strongest carbine by a long shot due to it's advanced armor pierce), get ready for a 10 second delay between med pack uses. I've found that as a Doctor/Carbineer, using a damage sliced DH17 in PvP is much better than the laser because you can last much longer, due to the DH17's fast attack speed. This allows you to pursue either of the Carbine's two paths of glory(well, sort of). Charge/Cripple, and Action1/Action2/LegShot.
In PvE without a doubt it's all about the laser. But as a Doc in PvP, you're going to want the reduced delay between shots. As the person above me said, we're the slowest firing class and we have to take what we can get.
