Ok, I have beeen talking to a pretty salted Carbineer on Naritus, he has been a carbineer since launch. He was telling me about Elite and Laser Carbines, and the difference between them.

I am sure this has been asked before and there are differences between the weapons.

Do you use an elite or laser carbine more? Elite doesnt suffer a huge drop in damage from mitigation like the laser would, but the Laser has AP2.

The Elite has lost its top spot in PvP to the DXR6 (acid damage is vulnerable on PSG), but in PvE there is no contest.....the Laser has a higher AP and same damage type. I NEVER use the Elite in PvE and rarely in PvP.

And you need an EE3 for heat damage too.

If damage mitigation goes away when they do the combat revamp in 3964, do you think people might start using the laser carbine more often in pvp?

lord yes, the laser carbine rips through anyone who doesnt have mitigation with ease
