Thread: SWG Veteran just picked up Carbineer

Hey all,
After months of being a pistoleer and squad leader I decided to finally drop that broken profession (although I still have SL so ....) and take up Carbineer. I figured being a squad leader first it made more sense to have an automatic blaster then just a pistol.
Boy was I damn right, so far i'm 1 2 0 3 and i am loving it, very nice crowd control specials. I'm very close to getting both Crippling shot and Charge Shot 2 which I hear is excellent. I am just wondering what NPCs do I need to hunt to find Stocks so my WS can make some better carbines. Went to Lok today and looted a bunch of velocity feed mechanisms but I was told they don't work in carbines.
Can anyone give me a few tips on any known NPCs plus any other tips you have from veteran carbineers? I tend to PvP a lot too.

Form-fitted stocks are a reward from the emperor's retreat. They have no HAM cost and will actually decrease the speed of your gun by .5.
If you are an imp go there and do the missions from the first woman, or try to buy them off of somebody else there. The reward is random, she either gives some marginally useful barrels, scopes, or the stocks.
If you are a reb it's somewhat more difficult, you'll have to buy them at a significantly higher price 300k per stock and up (although you could get lucky, I found 4 on the bazaar last week).
For a non BH dabbling carbineer krayt tissues can be great as well, even if they are only +30s as you will get a drop in speed. Getting your hands on some speed SEAs is highly advisable
As you only have +60 speed at master carbineer, speed is the key for you. You probably want to use an E11 most of the time, a krayted and FF-stocked one can get close to 1.0 speed.
