Can you provide your full weapon stats, and your full template? That might help us a bit in determining what you can do.

Ok well the first thing you need to do is give me that carbine. That will increase your chances of winning significantly.

LOL

In all seriousness, your job is going to be to keep melee away from you and to knock them down at the right moment. What you want to do is kite and kite...continue to do so while pegging away at them. You have a fast carbine, so you dont necessarily need your power specials. Just keep hitting them as fast as you can, and force them to bring the fight to you and force them to keep healing. Early on in the fight, make sure that you throw KDs in there as often as possible. Chargeshot deals a good deal of damage, in addition to putting someone on their arse. Hit them with that, then a legshot. As soon as they get up, root them and give them a series of quick hits. Toss in a thyroid rupture, and then run back out to max range as the root is getting ready to break. As soon as it does, chargeshot and repeat the above. If you ever miss a root, electrolyte or crippling are your friends.

As long as you can keep them from breaking LOS, this will force them into a healing cycle. With their defenses, you wont hit a melee stacker for that much. But you can wear him down. Eventually he will be forced to miss a heal, or you will deplete his mind. If he breaks LOS, fine. Reposition if possible and continue to put the heat on him. Dont go all out...YOU have all the control. As a Carbs/Pistols/CM template, you have:

- TWO power shots'
- A super quick attack
- A root
- A stun attack
- THREE snares
- TWO kds
- A speed debuff
- A paralyze
- An attack delay shot
- Intimidate shot

....and a cert for Battle Armor which might suit you better than recon against melee opponents. With ALL of that, you are THE controller of the fight. You have no less than NINE different attacks that control/delay/slowdown/stop your opponent. He should never get within 30m of you. And even if he DID, we still havent even mentioned the fact that you have incredible healing powers. If one ever gets inside on you, intimidate, root/snare/kd/paralyze have your pick and get out of range and heal up. There is no reason that you should ever lose a fight with a melee unless you are forced to stand toe-to-toe with him, which is exactly what he is going to try and make you do if he is worth anything at all as a PvPer. Your job as a ranged profession is to keep away from him, and keep hitting him. Hit him the hardest when you knock him down, since that is when his defenses are lower. Watch to see if his COB is on a macro, and if it is try to hit him right when it drops.

You also want to make sure that your armor has decent kinetic resists, and is fully armorbreak sliced. Your weapon is definitely not the problem. It is essentially a triple capped carbine, one of the nicest I have ever seen. If they are using a PSG, you might find that the Nyms will hit harder. Only problem there is that the Nyms usually has much higher SAC and is not nearly as fast. In terms of sustained DPS, the E11 you posted may be the better option. That is something that you will have to test out yourself, since I dont know the specs on your Nyms.

Good luck mate. I can tell you that your template and your weapon is not the issue. If your armor is also decent, then cahnces are you just need practice in controlling your opponent. Make him dance for you

You have CM in your template, so Booster Blue is the spice for you.

As for food, there are several combinations. A simple and easy one for PvE would be Blob Candy and Spiced Tea. This is a medium buff to your mind and action that lasts almost an hour. Some people also use Kanilli Wafers with this as well. Very nice. When you need a bit more of a buff, there are a few more options:

- Blob Candy/Vagnerian Canape with 33fill or lowest fill possible preferred
- Spiced Tea/Kiwik Clusjo Swirl with 33 fill or lowest fill possible preferred

Both of these combos will buff you significantly higher than the Blob/Spiced combo I mentioned. The only downside is that you will go through a good deal more food. Kiwik and Canape only last 12-15 minutes or so unless they are flavor-enhanced, so you will have to retake those more often. They will give you a powerful boost though.

Mandalorian Wine is probably the best all around single buff, but it is not sustainable. The fill will always be longer than the duration unless the chef used great resources and a filling or duration additive. The problem with doing this is that they would have to trade power for duration or filling, and if they do that the above combinations will be better overall. But for an instant buff to all stats that you can keep up for about 20 minutes before you fill up, its a nice thing to have.

There are several other HAM buffing combos that you can get, but unfortunately there is not a list anywhere that names all of them. The reason for this you may find a bit astounding, and that is that we just dont know yet. This has actually been a very large topic of discussion in the Chef forums as of late. In the last several patches, the rules for food stacking have changed twice, and we are still trying to figure out exactly how the stacking system works NOW. A good rule of thumb is that the system will not allow you to buff your regen stats more than +250. When you do, one food will overwrite the other, cancelling the buff on the first. This happens with some combos, but not all, and we are still trying to figure it out. With all of the changes to food stacking, the Chef community is yet to receive an conclusive word from a Dev as to how the system actually works. But I can assure you they are working on it.

As for the non-buffing foods, the majority of them seem to work, although some are a bit funky. Most of the Chef community is lobbying to get Deuterium Pyro, synthsteak, Ruby bliel, and other foods changed slighly to make them more useful. An example? Synthsteak right now lasts for 35-45 seconds, whereas pre-CU its duration was in number of attacks instead. We want to see this changed back to number of attacks instead of duration. Synth is working right now, but on a timer instead of an attack-based system. That is one example of a food that DOES work, but that a lot of people want to see changed.

I am afraid that until the Chef community gets some answers from the Devs about exactly what works and what doesnt, you will hear many different opinions about how it actually works. Feel free to ask your friends and fellow combatents what food combos they use, as that is how we are all learning at the moment. Just keep in mind that the definitive answers are NOT yet here.

Hope this helps!

Don't be afraid to use burst run if he does to keep him away, and don't run in circles. Also, watch out for them using LoS, if one uses it against you, stop, and think how to attack him, without getting into range, cause a good melee will probibly be able to destroy you, if he can get into range, and when things look bleak, paralyze, regen/heal, and get the heck outta range
