Im MC/MCM/doc0004. I would like more general ranged attributes and want to dump doc0004 for pistols0404 (again not for any specials only for gen ranged). I notice on my character sheet that I do not automaticallyget the +40 ranged/melee def, but only get it added when I have me carbine equipped. My worry is that the NET +30 ranged/melee def (+40 -10 from switch) will only be available to me if my pistol is equipped. Please tell me they will stack with my +40 from my carbines and give me +70 when I have any ranged weapon equipped. Then that got me worried about the gen ranged accuracy, although considering the name, that should stack. No?
Thanks for any help.

Here's how it works.
ACCURACY & SPEED (Melee or Ranged)
Total Accuracy = Weapon Specific Accuracy or Speed + General Accuracy or Speed
Note:
- Weapon Specific are the mods like One-Handed Accuracy / Speed and Carbine Accuracy / Speed. You get these Weapon Specific mods only with the appropriate weapon equipped.
DEFENSES
Total Ranged Defense = Ranged Defense + Weapon Specific Defense
Total Melee Defense = Melee Defense + Weapon Specific Defense
Notes:
- Your raw, unaltered Ranged and Melee Defenses are always active. The value depends of course on your template.
- Weapon Specific Defenses, i.e. Carbine or Rifle Defense, are ONLY active when that specific weapon type is equipped.
- Weapon Specific Defenses, with the proper weapon equipped, add their defense values to BOTH Ranged & Melee Defense.

This makes it possable to get + 50 in acc speed def mele and ranged. Looking at what you get with carbineer it can be a huge diffrence. But should you double master a ranged weapon like bh carbineer for example. Your speed will be so high from the extra genral speed skills you wont notice as much from the attachments on those areas.
