Thread: Able to survive with no BH?

just wanted to know how valuable carbine sis for (mainly) PVE and some PVP. atm im master pikes, with a complete arsenal of wepoans and SEAs. carbines looks liek the best ranged prof fo r me but is it any good without BH?

The best analogyI can give is that, like Pikeman, pure Master Carbineer requires speed and accuracy to work 
Just like you need nearly +25 speed to cap out your pikes, and just like you need high-damage and DoT pikes to compete, so too does Carbineer.
That isn't to say that it's worthless without it, but it does require reasonable effort to make it truly shine. The FAQ outlines some basic issues which might address your concerns, but essentially, it boils down to speed and effective damage. Just like Pikeman is no Swordsman in PvE, Carbineer is no Rifleman either. But that doesn't suggest that's its not a lot of fun, and in fact, Carbineer is by far the profession that I've had (and still have) a lot of fun with.

You just helped me to remember why I am always broke..../grumblew/o BH carbs you need +25 in speed for sure. Least carb AA's are cheap by comparison.
Carbine is extremely fun in mid level PvE. For the high level stuff use your pike.
In PvP I don't care for it w/o dots. Good pvp'r are going to have buffs, great armor, probably a psg, food/drink, and most likely ranged mitigation. Even 600-700 dmg lasers dont do squat.

well, i guess ill wait and see what happens with def dabbling in teh CU. justnotcied i only get +60 speed without BH. YIKES! scratch that! lol.
This defense crap is a real kick in teh nuts as wihtou my +100 def vs dizzy, my 3000 BH rear end will get cranked!

actually once you get +25 in speed SEA's you'll pretty much cap. carbineer is pretty good in most PvE. i can solo anything 50k HAM and under and i don't even have medic. just good armor and a 1.9 speed 84-479 (un-pup'd) laser carbine. yah defences are a big problem that hopfully will get addressed in the CU. i'm always on my back flopping around because of dizzy.

i dueled a pikeman ,instead of it being a one sided affair , it was close, (i won tho !) looks like theres 2 profs that are balanced,
BTW anyone else think BH0400 should be integrated into carbineer in the CU, or is that silly ?

I would love to see Carbineer be strong without BH. I'm not a BH for the hunt, just for the mods. I can't afford tapes to get +25 and the extra accuracy from BH helps. **CROSSES FINGERS
