Hi im not new or anything, but i dont know anything about krayt tissues and pearls and all that jedi nonsense. I would like to kno however about krayt tissues. For one what are they where do you get them and how much do they normally go for?.....a local weapon smith told me he needed a segment of krayt tissue in order to make me a krayt pistol. so i need some advice here, thanks!!

They drop off of krayt dragons, which are not only one of the toughest things in the game, but are also camped by tons of groups all the itme.

Just don't count on killing one if you're not in a big group, not a master rifleman, or not a master swordsman or another melee class.

thats not entirely true. I was a Commando in a small group with a 0 0 1 1 fencer and a 3 4 4 4 BH and we took out 3 juveniles and 1 giant Canyon Krayt without a single incap. ( yes we were buffed wearing 80-90% kinetic resist armour).

you dont need to be flavour of the month.

Dago, flavor of the month doesn't count. when someone can take down krayts using group tactics and not the newest uber template to solo krayts, that deserves props. Acklay stun batons and master riflemen have a bad tendancy to unbalance ANY part of the game....

cheers

Aye... my template is master swordsman, fencer 4xxx and the rest of my skill points go to holo grinding. I understand there are a few groups that go just to have fun killing 'em (i still do have fun killing 'em to be honest) but i find it funner soloing them or with 2 of my friends (speed-capped riflemen). we take those babies down pretty fast =)

Krayt Peals are used in the crafting of light sabers (although this process is changing soon) A crystal or pearl is needed to craft a saber, but a pearl is like a super uber crystal. Crafting with a pearl will make a saber extremely good in comparison to one crafted with only a crystal. This is the reason they are so valuable, and sell for millions.

Krayt Tissue is used in crafting ranged weapons like a scatter pistols, dx2's, republican balsters, geo pistols, carbines, etc. Tissues are used instead of powerhandlers, and can greatly increase the amount of damage and decrease the attack speed. Like pearls, tissues have different stats, standards being about +30 dam, -0.3 spd. Anything better is an above standard tissue.

Krayt composite segments, and krayt scales are used in the crafting of armor. I believe segments are used in advanced composite, and scales are used in another type, not sure which. Again, they are used in crafting to improve the stats of the armor.

Different weapons require different numbers of tissues, and all must have the same serial number, meaning they must all be looted at once. An example is a DX2 pistol, which requires 6 tissues, with all the same serial numbers. When a krayt dragon is looted, it may drop any number of the above mentioned items, or maybe nothing at all. If the krayt dropped say 7 tissue, you could get a DX2 made with 6 of the tissue. However, if you only looted 5, you could not use those five and another tissue from another loot, because they would not share the same serial number.

Some weapons, like the scatter pistol, only require 1 tissue, whereas the T21 rifle requires 11. 11 tissues with the same serial numbers, (all looted off the same kill), is extremely hard to come by.

Yes this is my second post, just been too lazy to register unitl a SL issue got me off by butt. But since im on a roll, i have a question for the carb forum.

Had a nice krayt hunt with my guild and it seems i may get some tissues out of the split. Ive been using elite carbs and dxr-6's for pvp and was wondering if anyone knows if krayt tissues would make a big difference in one of those two carbs. I think the tissues are base +30 damage or something like that. And if its not a waste of krayt tissues, which one of those two carbs would benifit the most and help me out at pvp?

Im leaning towards the elite carb, since in my support role, my first priority is not killing someone but helping everyone. Toward that end, i use the elite to help help quickly knock out all those PSG's with a macro of Chargeshot2, fullautoarea2, burst2 and ..cant remember the last one. The rare times im doing one on one pvp it seems like im using my dxr-6 the most.

any thoughts?

Base Krayt Tissue won't help you much.....you are already Speed Capped and that is what most "regular" Krayt Tissue is used for....lowering Weapon Speed.

And check out the FAQ for the # of tissues needed for each weapon....that will be a big factor for you I am sure.

I'll agree with TA, but I'll suggest a different tack. I'd sell those tissues (they're worth a bit to Weaponsmiths who like putting "Krayt" in their weapon tags), and sink the money into SEAs or other weapons. Accuracy while Moving is still a skill that BH/Carbineers could use help with.

Agreed.

Base tissues won't help in terms of damage, as picking up a crate of base weapons and hoping for a good slice will give you an even better weapon, for half the price (or less.)

Krayt tissues, especially for speed-capped Carbineers, only become 'apparent' when they start to break the +50 max damage threshold. Until then, attachments, attachments and attachments!

[added] I also wouldn't go with an Elite. There was much debate some time ago as to whether or not it is still a viable weapon, and it was agreed that with equal components, a krayt Laser, a krayt Elite and even a krayt DXR6 are fairly close to each other in terms of overall damage (considering all cases with armor, mitigation, etc.)

If you're looking to make yourself a krayt weapon, your best bet is therefore to use a Laser Carbine or a DXR6.

Hey bro, You may have better luck asking that question on the Ahazi trade forum. Or maybe even the Ahazi board.
