memnoch helped me test the Cone Angle of FullAutoArea (90 deg roughly)and SuppressionFire (26-30 deg roughly).

More info as we get it

SprayShot from BH has same radius as SuppressionFire.

Of course BH shouldn't even have a Cone Effect Special, but that is for another discussion.....

Just did a run at the CUon the Test Center. I duplicated my current char's template -- Master Medic/Master Doc/Master Carbineer. I'm CL 80 on the Test Center. Pretty good I thought.

I got the Advanced Battle Armor (padded armor) which my Doc and Carbineer can use. I examined the new carbines and decided to use the E11 Mark 2 which does more dmg than my best carbines in LIVE now. Seems like a nice weap. I also got the new doc buff from the Frog. I took out the meatlumps and kooks around Tyrena easily, which of course I should be able to do.

Then I decided to give the weapon, the armor, the doc buff and my skills a decent test and went to Lok to try a gurk lair. I can take out as many gurks as you can throw at me now on LIVE, but I couldn't kill even one on the Test Center. I threw every skill I had at it and could do very little damage. The gurk incapped me in seconds. By the time I stood up the gurk had regenerated completely. I tried again and the same thing happened. I know the devs want us to group, but my gosh, this seems ridiculous.

First impression -- I haven't got a prayer as a Master Carbineer when the CU comes out. I can't see a scenario where I'm going to be able to find a groupwith meleetanks every single time I want to hunt something. I don't think I'll enjoy going after just meatlumps all the time when I'm solo.

I don't know about the crowd control deal, but I'm not a pvper. I think you're going to have to add some melee to your Carbineer or you haven't got a chance at close range. When they say the Carbineer's "defense" is "minimal", they mean it. I couldn't see that the Advanced Padded Armor gave me much protection at all. I should've lasted against one gurk for more than a couple of seconds.

As for the weapons, in LIVE I've got some uber krayt laser carbines specially made for me and they dogreat dmg.I would HATE to see these nerfed, so Ipray our good carbines survive the conversion. But I wouldn't mind having some of the 277-619 damage carbines like the E11 Mark 2. I agree though... why should a Master Carbineer NOT be able to use the best carbines in the game (e.g. Proton) after the CU? Why should we have the 4th best?

I'll keep hitting the TC, but right now I'm extremely discouraged about the abilities the Carbineer will have after the CU. I'm not looking forward to a complete remake of my character.

"I also got the new doc buff from the Frog"

One thing you also might want to understand is that the frog buff that you get is much higher then any master doc will be able to do so if you think you have it tough with that frog buff it only gets worse.

Docs can only do a max of 20% even though I have yet to acheive anything higher then 10%.

The frogs are giving out 50% to health and 75% to action regen, higher then any doc will ever be able to do.

Also for those testing weapons make sure you test out the new ones from the frog. They did not wipe weapons so the new ones from the frog todayare less damage then ones we got yesterday.

I see the same thing and have posted several times in the discussion threads about it. all the new weapons that are useless to us because of to low level damage or certs to other professions. As it is now most of our can be used by anyone else that has the level req.

I think they should make all weapons able to acheive the same damage possible and make the ability to tap that damage tied to the skill level like leg shot, advanced leg shot so we we will see vastly more weapons used.

Omg, Trynian. Thanks for the info. Knowing that the frog is giving higher buffs than any doc will be able to do and seeing how badly I fared against that gurk, I'm really bummed. I went back to the TC withtwo friends who have elite combat masters. We all had different profs, ranged and melee, so we thought we'd do ok by using our different skills in the group like the devs want us to, butthe gurks got us again. I'm a doc but couldn't heal the groupfast enough, and the heals I could throw were pitiful. We did manage to kill a couple of flits. This is sad. Ok, granted, these were "mission" gurks, level 82. I understand that the wild lairs are half that level, and maybe I'll have some success with those.Unfortunately, I'm told I can't get any missions from the terminal under level 80 which is way too hard even when I'm with a group. I really don't want to go back to hunting gubburs and chubas and feeling like a newb again. After nearly 2 years of playing SWG I hoped I was long past that.

And it is my understanding that Lok is not a balanced planet yet, keep all your combat to the planets that are "fixed", Corellia, Tat, Naboo, Rori, and Talus.

And not to be rude, but you need to really read up on the CU. We already have talked about the issue of the Laser Carbine conversion and many other things in this very thread.

From what I understand the frogs are putting out a median of doc+food buffs, so a buffed and full toon can expect values roughly in that area. But aye, PvE is a lil messy now.

Dantooine hasn't been balanced yet either, got wasted by a conblue piket yesterday that was level 78 to my level 80 Carbineer/Combat Medic. And the CM skills were basically useless, if I didn't keep him slowed with cripleshot and leg shot I wasn't standing a chance. I did manage to take out one by kiting him and hitting myself with a lot of heals, but it was embarrasing. Then two of them laid me to waste.

I lasted over a minute against a high level Jedi with CL80 on TC-Valcyn with only Carbineer 4442 to my name (CL45), which is a heck of a lot better than I ever managed on Live. I was giving him pretty decent damage, and probably would have won, had he not had the "Force-Heal" ability that kept using to max his health whenever I'd get him to half health. Kiting worked pretty well.

I'd say this new system definetly gives us carbineers a chance.

Laser moved to CL 50. Now there is no weaponsmith schem for CL 22, CL 30, or CL 50. Really need this addressed.
