Thread: WildShot Redundant?

Would it be plausible to add in a "next action is delayed by" effect to wildshot? I am thinking that a carbine firing wildly is similar to smuggler's panic shot.

It wouldn't necessarily be as effective as the smuggler's version of the attack (them being arguably the masters at social manipulation and "combat by other means"), but if it delayed the next action of the target by 5 seconds, for example, it would be another interesting attack to add to the arsenal.

Edit: fixed spelling

That would be nice. ...and an intimidate shot at master?

Lead off with the delay, and have them dizzied, blinded, stunned, intimidated, and KDed before it wears off.

A carbineer can dream can't he?

Confusion shot sticks the states for 30 secs from my experience. I mix between FA2 and confusion shot depending on the need. One sticks longer with stun and dizzy, but the other slings a blind in the mix with stun and dizzy. If you can KD the person/NPC a longer dizzy may be better.... however if they are not cooperating in my desire to hand them a nice view of the stars, I am gonna use FA2 to chance the blind in with the dizzy to cut their accuracy and defenses until I can land a KD or posture down.

Wildshot is redundant from my experiences with carbs. I don't even have it on my toolbar and until I saw this thread had forgotten I even had it. Especially if Legshot3 is gonna go cone, an intimidation shot would be quite useful and in no way or form could it overpower a novice brawler or walking carpet skill. Even if it was to the strength of intimidation2 it would not make Carbineer's overpowered. Just would amplify our main use as a state applier. I mean do brawlers not get intimidate, stun, blind, dizzy, etc? Most of them can apply all of these listed states in one prof, what would be the harm in a carbineer handling intimidate?

First thing, Confusion Shot is a damn fine attack, but you can't say it's redundant with Wild Shot. It's in the BH profession and requires an extra godawful amount of skill points to get. I personally have it, but I think the Carbineer needs reliable single-target stuns and dizzies. If leg shot is going to become the reliable single-target stun, then that's great, wild shot is free for something else. The profession could still use a more reliable single-target dizzy.

Ummm, LegShot already does single target Stun very effectively....so not an IF.....

The question is with WildShot2 and its Cone Effect Stun coming to LegShot3 possibly.

I think it is highly relevant to remind everyone that legshot3 is still broken. When fixed, this special will offer a cone action-targeting special with a very high chance to stun. With legshot3 fixed, the only difference between wildshot and legshot will be that legshot is action pool and wildshot is random.

Given that, do you really still want wildshot to remain the same or do you want something more useful?

If legshot3 is going to be a cone stun , then yes wildshot needs to do something else.

Intimidate is a powerfull skill and combo'd with stun can reduce damage by 75%, can this be done in our profession without unbalancing us? Tka and pikeman are the only brawling professions that can stun and intimidate, but they have to do it up close.

With the short duration and low chance of landing States......I doubtwewould beoverpowered. AND make it a Master Special to stop dabblers, so only about 10 people per server could even use a Ranged Intimidation
