Incidentally why does Commando even get Carbines...they have no lines that require carbine experience, BH do, but not Commandos.
As of the CU, both commando and BH will require only the support line from marksman. My guess as to why commandos get the carbine is because they specialize in boom, and would probably use anything and everything that shoots to get the job done.
Its wrong. They could easily just make another commando weapon ( and I feel the commando weapons should be open to everyone not certed to boxes, at least the majority of them like everyone elses weapons are).
Its like how they are doing with doc and CM taking all their crafting and giving it to the BEs without real compensation, or how they took mind wound healing and mind buffs from Dancers and Musicians and gave em the 5% inspiration buffs as compensation.......not right at all.

Right now, the main problem I have with the CU is the ability costs related to regular fire. That in itself is retarded, and takes away any progress gained by performing specials. As it stands, all the fights I've seen have the same equivelant as if both parties just used autofire. In this scenario, the Commando will win due toKD, fire and other dots inherent to their weapons. Commando has no special abilities, and no recovery abilities, so their main way of life is autofire with their weaponry. Opening up these weapons to all classes would unbalance it just as bad as it is now, especially since everyone would be able to do specials with these higher damage weapons (I think, haven't done much testing). But the main reason I see is that since commando has no specials or recovery abilities, there will be no reason to pick up commando other than the weapons.
Lifting the class requirements on weapons is one of the most retarded things I've ever seen. All MMO's have weapon types specific to certain classes. Even if a few other classes can use these weapons, there are weapon types that not all classes can use, some that only 1 or 2 classes can use, and some classes are limited to 1 or 2 types of weapons as they are a specialty or abilities class. They just as easily could have done dual certs, or weapon level certs (carbine level 4 cert - slugthrower, dxr-6). But que sera, sera.
As for the BF and mind wounds, they should have left that alone, I agree. I died 12 times on TC-3, and had a BF of10. Not cool. Docs and CMs are now combat professions, and will have unique niche`s. I honestly hope they take away creature crafting from BEs, and make CHs self supportive (of course, the creatures they tame will have to be beefed up some). But stim and poison crafting done by a BE does make sense, to a degree.
