Thread: Suppression Fire is CHANGED/FIXED
What i need is area rooting... let´s say for half time of stopping shot.
How'bout a working area snaring? Like cripple shot, but on area? A working suppression fire would do exactly that, wish it would be fixed. (And, of course, i'd love to see an area-knockdown again.... that one is definitely missing...)

Ill throw my two Credits in also:
- Improved Leg Shot - Moderate damage, targets legs, applies Snare
- Improved Crippling Shot - Low damage, targets legs, applies Root
- Improved Charge Shot - Moderate/low damage, 90º Cone, chance to Knockdown/Stun.
- We would also need a good Single man KD.
- Improved Full Auto Area - Moderate damage, 90º Cone, moderate chance to Stun/Blind
- Advanced Surpression Fire - Low damage, 90º Cone, applies Root
- Advanced Rapid Fire -moderately high damage, single target, mediumaction, fast Cooldown(it is "rapid fire")
- Improved Scatter Shot - High damage, 45º Cone, targets body/head, high chance to Blind.
With this tuesday maintenance I have a 10 second stat icon for suprressionfire on my targets after I hit something with suppression fire.
Dont know what it does to the movement of those snowflakes since they dont run toward me anyway ...
.
another thing, not sure if TAfirehawk had posted it during the TC CU time, (I guess he did and I must have missed it).
Fullautofire cone angle was 90%.
My so far subjective observation is, that the fire arc of suppression fire is larger.
And can you pass on to us what effect suppression fire will do ?
I wish it would be an area KD, keeping the targets down for maybe the full 10 seconds?

As TA lately stated that it's probably only useful in PvE, i assume that it's not a knockdown. Although i agree, we'd really need that. (Perhaps we can convert one of the currently rather useless abilities into that? Scattershot comes to mind with that, that would make the 4xxx branch to be our area effect branch...)
On second thought, i would say that an area snare (with decent duration) would be very desireable, too... can somebody convince the devs to convert rapidfire into that? ![]()
Anyways, TA, please give us a small hint what the new suppression fire will be, the "very unique" and "no other class has something similar" makes me quite curious... ![]()
Hmmm
would be sad if some professions/skills would get limited to PvE only.
Something "very unique" and "no other class has something similar" would be very nice too.
Maybe the return of a forced posture down rather then a KD with a delayed firing/attack rate ?
/suppressionfire a Pve Only Skill like my soon to be /formup?
Here i follow the "wait and see" guideline. I still hope that it's not as bad as written in the announcements. While i usually go for PvE, i wouldn't like to belimited in my options...
Hmm... for best effect, it would then also need to apply stun... (or we need something else to apply stun... would also be fine...)

Suppression Fire will NOT be a PvE only attack.....but as it stands, and no I can't tell you anything about it, the way it works I think will fit better in PvE than PvP. Of course there will be some use in PvP but it is being setup to be more effective against the SWG AI than real people.
Quite frankly I think we will all love it and I see this as an uber fix for Carbineer post-CU.....and I will say if it worked in PvP like it will in most PvE situations, thenit would be horribly out-of-balance and get a nerf within a week.....it is that good for crowd control in a group setting, not solo.....Smugglers will be envious for sure ![]()
you are really making me wonder what it might do, hehe

So, what exactly is it that you can't tell us? *grin*
All in all, sounds great, but be careful, curious Sylows blow up easily...
